Winter Storm Warning & .Hazardous Mountain Travel Continues Through Tuesday
Posted by: thepinetree on 02/03/2019 07:22 AM
Arnold, CA...Additional winter storms will bring periods of dangerous mountain travel from heavy snow and gusty wind through Tuesday. White out conditions are possible along with chain controls, long travel delays, and even road closures. Travel into the high country is strongly discouraged through early next week. Snow levels are expected to lower to 3500 to 5000 feet today impacting the Coastal Range, as well as the Sierra Nevada. A colder storm arrives Monday and Tuesday brining heavy mountain snow and strong winds to the higher elevations. Significant snow possible in the foothills Monday into Tuesday.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Ok folks…….here we go! Some interesting snow totals for the next 4-5 days so dig this. Today snowfall should begin around 10am or so with a possible high of 41F and South winds in the teens and gusting into the 20’s or so. We could see up to 1″ fall today then tonight things start to really ramp up. With a few degrees cooler forecasted than the model runs yesterday these totals are very possible. Tonight 6-10″ possible, Saturday 17-23″ possible, Saturday night 8-12″, Sunday 10-14″, Sunday night 14-20″, Monday 12-18″…..so that’s a possible 67-97′!!!!! The big thing will be the temps so pay attention to that as a bit warmer and the lower total is likely , a bit cooler then the 97″ is possible. All said, this storm has very tight surface gradients associated with it so very breezy conditions will be seen during the storm cycle so snow redistribution will be in effect and in some areas the snow storm depth can be higher than noted. All ya’ll Travel safe, drive a bit slower and get yer pow game on! Unsettled weather should stick around until Tuesday then high pressure returns. The Mountain now has all aspects open for your skiing & riding pleasure so come check us out as Hwy 4 is the easiest access to any resort on the Western Sierra Slope. Remember, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” so come check us out!
