Bear Valley, CA...The snow is falling and the winter playground keeps getting better and better. Another 4 feet of snow from the latest system just added to the totals. In March of 1911 Tamarack had 452 inches on the deck. (Hopfully we won't get quite that much this year.) Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! The resort will be closed today due to Hwy 4 being closed and heavy snowfall at the resort. 30" fell overnight and some storm recovery is in effect. We plan to reopen Monday February 11th 2019.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Saturday is here and some light snowfall is currently happening. 3″ of new snow fell overnight. Today 10-14′ is possible and winds will be out of the SSW in the 20’s and gusts into the low 30’s. Tonight the heaviest snow will fall with another 22-28″ possible. Sunday looks to taper off with 5-9″ falling during the day. Unsettled snowy weather looks to stick through next Thursday at this time. The season is firing on all cylinders so come check us out as Hwy 4 is the easiest access to any resort on the Western Sierra Slope. Remember, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” so come check us out!

$54.8 Million in SB1 Funding Transportation Improvements Including Local Projects

Sacramento, CA...Caltrans announced today the California Transportation Commission allocated $54.8 million for 46 projects throughout California including $31.1 million for fix-it-first projects funded by Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. This funding will allow Caltrans to repair or replace 16 bridges, 168 lane miles and 150 drainage systems statewide. In addition, 248 congestion reducing elements will be installed, including highway message signs, cameras and loop detectors to improve traffic flow. “As a new year begins, we continue our commitment to improve California’s highways, providing drivers with a smoother ride,” said Caltrans Director Laurie Berman. “SB 1 is not only allowing us to fix our highways and local roads, but it is also reducing congestion, which allows residents and visitors to get where they need to go more safely and reliably.”

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A beautiful bluebird day is ahead with cool temps and some more awesome pow riding! After a storm recovery day on Tuesday we reopened yesterday with copious amounts of deep pow riding on the frontside. Today we look to bring the backside and lower mtn online. The backside is slated to open by 10am and the lower mtn by 11am but it’s possible it could be sooner. With 85” over the last 5 days Ski Patrol has been working diligently to bring things online in the Grizz. Today will be that day! Please give a shout out to all Mtn. Ops Teams you see today as everyone has been doing an incredible job during this storm cycle! Ride with a partner as the tree wells all over the resort are deep from the recent snowfall so it’s a good idea to ride with a friend. California snow storms have once again delivered and looks to do so again come this Friday night through the weekend where we could see1-2’ of new snowfall. The season is firing on all cylinders so come check us out as Hwy 4 is the easiest access to any resort on the Western Sierra Slope. Remember, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” so come check us out!

Road Conditions & Chain Control Update...Hwy 88 Closed, Chains Needed on Hwy 4 & 108

Arnold, CA....Hwy 88 Still Closed Past Silver Lake for avalanche control in the Carson Spur area. Chains are needed on Hwy 4 from Arnold on up. On Hwy 108 your will need chains or engage the 4WD near Long Barn. Drive safe as there will be many slick sections at lower elevations as well.
Power Outages Drop to 1,774 in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties As Crews Continue Their Work

Arnold, CA....PG&E crews continue to make progress and the outage total has dropped to 1,774 as of this evening in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties they should be able to get the bulk of customers back online soon and they will be continuing their work electrons until are flowing.

Arnold, CA....PG&E Crews who were working out in wet freezing conditions brought 6,833 customers back online overnight. With clear weather on tap for today the bulk of the outages are expected to be dealt with today in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties...
