Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley continued it's tradition of being the best place in our area to ring in the new year. This year it was Chains Required rocking the Cathedral Lounge, the Balloon Drop and then the always spectacular fireworks in Bear Valley Village with snow in the background. We would like to thank Zdzislaw Marcisz for the great photos.

Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People! Today we'll see a 20% chance of snow as the system starts to make it's way into the area. The high will be around 30F and winds will be out of the South from 12-17mph with gusts into the mid 20's. Model agreements are still in flux as the colder air mass arrives yet the system appears to have slowed a bit and the next 36hrs should produce light snow fall before ramping up and delivering anywhere from 6-18" or so. Snow levels could drop to around 1500' initially then as the second wave pushes into the area on Tuesday those elevations could rise up into the 3-5000' range. So here's how it could play out.....Sunday night 1-3", Monday 2-4", Monday night 1-3", Tuesday 1-2" Tuesday night 3-7", Wednesday 4-8" followed by snow showers through the rest of the week. Come on up and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!! Stay tuned..................
Calaveras County, CA...With winter upon us and more snow in the forecast, many of you will be heading to the mountains looking for a fun day in the outdoors and a good place to sled. It’s not unusual to see highway turn-outs packed with cars while families play on the nearby hillsides. It can be a little scary with such proximity to a principal highway, so we thought a little guide to Calaveras’ better places to sled was in order for this month.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A bit cooler this morning at 5am with 35F on the register and calm winds. The projected high today should come in around 43F as the low pressure kicks in and the closed low and upper level system clashes ahead of the coming snow over the next 4 to 5 days. Tonight snow showers are expected with less than a half inch expected but we could see that snow level drop to 4000' later tonight and early Saturday morning. A brief shot of high pressure will arrive Saturday before the next system arrives which will produce snowfall in the 5-7" range starting Sunday night and carrying over into Monday with those snow levels dropping down to 3000' initially then possibly 1500' or so. Snow showers are expected to carry into mid week but stay tuned as those totals have a fair chance of increasing. Ecobike Adventures are here for the week with Big Fat Tire bikes with electric assist for tons of fun riding on the snow or dirt! The venue for this event has shifted from down in town to back up at the Ski Area due to conditions so you need to go check those bikes out. Come on up and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!!
