Hey Good People! Several Feet of "Pure Mountain Fun" on the Way to Bear Valley. ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/28/2018 12:05 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Well….here we go! A strong system with heavy snowfall is in effect as yesterday the initial showing gave us about 6/10th’s of an inch of rain at the resort with the warm front temps and a bit of an inversion left the town of Bear Valley with and inch or so of new snow. Today a high of 38F is expected with SSW winds from 9-13mph with gusts into the 20’s. 6-10″ of snow is expected today and 7-11″ tonight and a whopping 11-17″ expected during the day Thursday!!! Friday during the day things will slow down a bit then Friday night 4-8″ is expected before the system makes it’s way East. The important thing here is temps and elevation for snowfall. Higher snowfall elevations at first will only compliment last weeks snowfall as the heavier denser snow will pack in naturally and as the storm progresses we’ll see colder temps continue and drop the snow level to 6000 by Thursday morning and then 4000′ by Saturday. Next week looks to continue with this pattern and snowfall could go as low as 3000′ by next Tuesday. The storm door is open and I expect good coverage for lower elevations. Stay tuned as we will be opening more terrain for the coming weekend. As always we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” .

Hey Good People! Pure Mountain Sunday Fun at Bear Valley! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/25/2018 10:43 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! It’s 37F at 5am for the beginning of Sunday and with a high of 44F today and a light East wind to 5mph so a beautiful sunny day is expected. As the system makes its way east it will bring some warmer daytime highs through Tuesday. Late Monday night into early Tuesday a chance of mixed precipitation is expected and looks to turn to snow by Wednesday where we could see 1-3″ during the day. With the arrival of the 2nd system on Thursday some cooler air aloft will also play a role as there is a fair chance of at least 1″ of water and on the higher end 3″ so snow production looks to kick into high gear come Thursday/Friday and into the weekend at this time. Stay tuned as the forecast models evolve through the week. As always we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” .

Hey Good People! Its Opening Day at Bear Valley Mountain! Bear Valley Update by Mattly Trent!

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/23/2018 08:22 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Opening Day Today with the Cub Carpet, Cub Chair and Tubing as well as the start of Winterfest. As the day the day starts to wake up we have 4″ of new snow overnight for a storm total of 17″ so far and a 15″ base currently. The high for today looks to be around 39F and SW winds from 18-31mph as warm air aloft makes it’s way over the forecast area and surface gradients tighten up. Mixed precipitation is expected today and tonight as the temps try to figure out which way they want to go. Saturday afternoon the current system will head East and give way to a few days of clear weather and then next week looks to bring in 2 maybe 3 different snow events but I’ll give that a few days before we nail anything down.
