If you have an oak tree growing in your yard you may notice a strange phenomenon occurring this year. The ground beneath many oaks is covered with pinhead-sized yellow or brown seedlike objects, most of which are hopping around. Plant more carrots now for fall and winter~by Ken Churches

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 07/29/2009 12:49 PM
Carrots can still be planted through July for fall and winter harvest in most areas of the foothills. In higher elevation areas in July, plant only shorter season varieties with 50 to 60 days to maturity. Most seed packets list days-to-maturity information.
