Angels Camp, CA....The Youth Parade, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Calaveras County since 1947, is scheduled for Thursday, May 13 at 10:00 AM on Main Street in Historic Downtown Angels Camp. "Celebrating the Wit and Wisdom of Mark Twain" is this year's theme. All youth between the ages of infant to 18 years of age are invited to participate in the parade. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. ...

Angels Camp, CA....Four Compete for Saddle Queen The Calaveras Saddle Queen Competition has become one the Fair’s signature events. Four young women are competing for the title. The Fair’s scholarship fund will be awarding $2,000 in scholarship funds to the top three competitors. Young women are judged on their interview skills as well their horsemanship abilities. These hard working students have an extensive preparation process in and out of the Arena. The 2010 Cowgirls are Holly Zeller of Valley Springs, Marilyn Sanders of Douglas Flat, Kelsey Lowe also of Douglas Flat and Ashley Gilmore of San Andreas.
