Angels Camp, CA....Scott's Yogurt Factory hosted a benefit on Thursday eve in support of the family of Emilya Jade Taylor. Emilya recently passed from this world, as most of have heard. She was born with Cerebral Palsy and struggled with seizures most of her young life. Thursday's event at Scott's Yogurt Factory was meant to help Emilya's family forgive medical bills and also to defray burial costs that arrived after her passing. The Yogurt Factory was full to capacity tonight, as our community came out to share memories, be together, and remember Emilya.....

Calaveras County, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Installation Dinner on Wednesday, February 23rd at Camps Restaurant in Angels Camp. Senator Ted Gaines will be the Guest Speaker and the Business of the Year will be awarded. Nominees for the Business of the Year are: Big Trees Market, Senders Market, Middleton's, and CAMPS Restaurant. The Chamber of Commerce's new Directors and Officers will be installed that evening as well. The new President for the 2011 Year is Jacob Lewis the Chief Financial Officer for Mark Twain St. Joseph Hospital, Vice-President is Jeff Davidson of Davidson Steel Buildings and Construction, .....

Frogtown, USA...."Green Gowns" Dress Swap will be in the Frogeteria at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Last year, the Fairgrounds hosted a dress swap in an effort to provide women in Calaveras County an opportunity to buy, sell, donate, or swap their evening gowns. The event was so successful it will be repeated again this year. At the Dress Swap women can donate their dresses, try to sell them or trade them with new dresses. Also, those looking to find a new evening gown, prom dress, etc. can come and look at all the wonderful gowns for sale or trade....
Angels Camp, CA....Media reports in recent weeks have made everyone aware of the new larger sized drinks now available from Starbucks. Those who want a little extra "spin" from their usual caffeine dose can now spin just a little more. It seems some have put their own spin on, or in, Starbucks this week. Pam Brady and her friend and mentor Christine Hall sat down in the ever popular corner table, and set up their wheels to do a little spinning of their own; spinning of yarn that is.....
