Murphys, CA....This week on Melly's Kitchen, Melanie Klann talks Appetizers.....“For me, the reason appetizers are so amazing is that every piece is sacred, especially made for each guest. It is easy to make a big tri-tip and boil some potatoes for 80 people, but appetizers are an individual creation. One bite can have so many different textures and flavors; sweet, salty, spicy, creamy, and on and on.” As a caterer, Melanie feels that creating appetizers or small plates is a great way to help her clients please all of their guests. There need to worry if some one doesn’t eat pork, is allergic to fish or isn’t eating carbs. Melanie shares her knowledge of ayurvedic traditions, “ By incorporating 5 or more sensations into one meal is more satisfying to the palate, and people tend to eat less, but enjoy themselves more!” Her recipe for Rich Polenta Cakes with Mushroom Sauce is enclosed for your tasting pleasure....

“On Monday, Jan. 17, local Girl Scouts from the Mi-Wok Trails Association gathered in Angels Camp to play “A Minute to Win It!”, a fun afternoon of one minute games and challenges based on the popular TV game show. Scouts from 1st grade though 12th grade attended this event, put together and hosted by Murphys troop 2335. It was a great time getting together for all of them. The picture shows the final winners of the events with the event hosts......

| Angels Camp, CA....Eric Don Holden, of Angels Camp, so sadly passed away on January 13, 2011 of a heart condition. He was 44. Eric lived in Angels Camp for 3 years. He was a lumber yard foreman for 10 years. His survivors include his wife, Joann Holden of Angels Camp; Children, Desiree and Lacey Brittany Holden of Angels Camp; Parents, Don and Ann Holden; Siblings, Donna Holden, Gary Holden, Rhonda Hendricks and Linda Payton. Funeral Services will be held on March 16th, 2011 at the Jackson Park in Jackson, CA. "So long everybody, don't cry for me. This is not the place I'm supposed to be. For beyond the moon and star's I'll quickly fly. I'm finally happy, please everyone don't cry.".... |

Angels Camp, CA....Judging for this year's 'Chairs For Charity' event started tonight at the Mercantile in downtown Angels Camp. Artists, community luminaries, and patrons of the arts and our community from three counties focused their attention on furniture tranformed into art. Simple chairs had been tranformed into vehicles of expression by dozens of talented people of our community. Those'Chairs for Charity' will be offered next week as auction items at the 'Chairs for Charity' fundraiser at the San Andreas Town Hall.....
