"The Tipsy Chicks" of Arnold Take Home Viewers Choice Award at Ironstone Vineyards BBQ Competition! Pictures & Video Enclosed

Murphys, CA...Ironstone Vineyards put on another great event on Sunday! They held their 2nd Annual BBQ Competition which was hosted by Executive Chef James Lehman. There were approximately 22 teams vying for the BBQ Queens and Kings of the Weber for the Day! "The Tipsy Chicks", a team of gals from Arnold, took home the "Viewers Choice" Competition. For pork butt, "Pork Purveyors" of Murphys takes it, baby back ribs goes to "Spoke Benders" of Vacaville, and beef brisket, "Team Ramirez" from Tracy, CA. The judging was done by James and 8 Blind Judges, whom were also local food connoisseur's. There were three judges for each category. The categories were Best of Beef Brisket, Best of Pork Baby Back Ribs, Best of Pork Butt and Viewers Choice....

Angels Camp, CA....If you did not have a chance to attend or catch our "Live" streaming of the Economic Summit that took place on Friday, we now have the replay up for your viewing pleasure.....The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce, together with the County of Calaveras and the City of Angels sponsored the 1st Annual Calaveras County Economic Revitalization Summit, a first time historic event, and the beginning of a county-wide ongoing design process. After months of planning, just over 150 of the best and brightest of our local minds met, strategized, planned, broke bread together and listened to some great speakers. It was an all day event starting with the first speaker, Steve Art ,who is the economic development director for Lincoln CA. In recent years Lincoln was one of the fastest growing cities in the US....

Some of the agenda items being discussed will be a Minute Order accepting bid and authorizing purchase of a 2008 Ford for Public Works; A Minute Order authorizing the CDA to issue a refund in the amount of $10,220 to Randy and Sammye Lacy for outside consulting fees that are no longer needed; Lake Tulloch is back on the agenda for discussion and possible action use of residential dwelling units for transient occupancy (short-term rentals). The Heath Alldrin Wedding~By Gabby Dogwood

Angels Camp, CA...One of the Big society events that took place last weekend was the marriage of two young sweethearts, Hanna Heath and Erik Alldrin. This adorable young couple has had one of those storybook romances of high school sweethearts. Even though they are barely into their 20's they have been an "Item" for over 6 years. It was a wonderful garden ceremony at the majestic and historic Utica Mansion owned by Angels Camp's former Mayor, Tad Falendorf. Erik is a local firefighter so the entire wedding party arrived by fire truck with the Bride conveyed to the wedding aboard her own vintage fire truck as well. The weather was perfect and the assembled guests never needed the "oh so clever" programs/fans....

Calaveras County, CA....We would like to welcome one of our newest Columnists, "ThePineTree Pedaler", Brett Loring. Brett road the 100 mile Sierra Century today and here is what he has to say about his Grand Adventure....."The roads of Calaveras County for the second year in a row were home – for at least 10 hours - to the Sacramento Wheelmen's coveted biking event, The Sierra Century. A total of 607 road bikers braved the warm June 7 sun and the bumpy back roads and steep grades like Highway 26 to West Point, Jesus Maria into Mountain Ranch, and Dogtown en route back to the Ironstone Vineyard finish line. Three hundred seventy five of the riders participated in the 100-kilometer route, while the rest rode the nearly 100-mile course. Many riders on the 100-mile course finished in under 8 hours......

Sad News For a Small Town...Two Fatalities in Fight (Updated with names of deceased) Father & Son Perish

Angels Camp, CA...We just spoke with Angels Camp Police Chief Dale Mendenhall and he has now confirmed that there were two fatalities and one juvenile injured in a fight that broke out around 7pm Thursday. The Fight occurred right on Stanislaus Ave and spilled over onto the parking lot of an adjacent apartment complex. Crime scene investigators are on scene now and will probably remain so for the duration of the night....

Angels Camp, CA....We were just informed by law enforcement agencies that Bret Harte High School is currently on Lock Down. There is heavy law enforcement activity in the area. Since school is not in session, the only students at Bret Harte currently are those doing extra-curricular activities or working on projects. This was an arrest related to last nights homicide. In speaking with Principal, Dean Way, the school was told that the lock down may lifted within one half hour....(Updates enclosed).....

On June 5th at approximately 7:30pm, two men were stabbed to death at 612 Stanislaus Avenue in Angels Camp. Any information that can be provided as to the above subjects whereabouts, known associates or locations he frequents, is requested. Please provide any information to the Angels Camp Police Department......
