Angels Camp, CA...Henry Herbert ( Hank ) Middleton died peacefully on May 23, 2012. Surrounded by his loving wife and Children. Hank was born May 30, 1919 in Redlands CA to Henry and Mattye Middleton. He Lived in Thermal, CA on a date farm until he entered the Navy during WW II in 1942. After his Military Service, he moved to Los Angeles area until his Marriage to Matilda( Mat) Salvato in 1946. In 1947 they moved to Walnut Creek, CA and then to Angels Camp, CA in 1955. Hank & Mat, started Middletons’s Furniture and Appliance in 1955...

Angels Camp, CA...Pete Voinich died may 20, 2012 at Mark Twain convalescent hospital in San Andreas at the age of 102. He resided in Angels Camp all of his life. Pete was born to Yugoslavian emigrants Paul and Anne Voinich in 1910 in Angels Camp. He lived on the same block all of his life. He first lived with his parents, then with his wife Jessie 2 doors down, then built a home in between the two former homes in 1954, where he lived until 10 months ago when he went to Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital....

Angels Camp, CA..Frogtown...Kayomi Payne, 11 years old, of Valley Springs California decided this year would be her first showing a market turkey at the Calveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. Part of the Jenny Lind 4H, Kayomi raised a total of four market turkeys this year, and picked one named "Dinner" to be her show bird. "Dinner" weighed in at 23lbs, but her brothers and sisters weighed in far bigger, including a tom too big for showing at a whopping 38lbs!
