Tuttletown, CA....On Saturday morning, bright and early, we ventured across the bridge to Tuolumne County where the Tuttletown Recreation Area was playing host to the Annual Fun Fishing Day for Kids hosted by the CAST for Kids Foundation. This event is held for disabled or disadvantaged children between the ages of 5~16. Eleven local skippers brought out their boats to take the kids fishing and the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department was also on had to take kids on boat rides. Numerous organizations were on hand to make sure the kids had a great day. They could even get their picture taken and mounted on a plaque for free. The Arnold Rotary Club had a great gold panning booth and there was even a snake exhibit for the kids....

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/08/2008 01:58 PM
Angels Camp, CA...One of the Big society events that took place last weekend was the marriage of two young sweethearts, Hanna Heath and Erik Alldrin. This adorable young couple has had one of those storybook romances of high school sweethearts. Even though they are barely into their 20's they have been an "Item" for over 6 years. It was a wonderful garden ceremony at the majestic and historic Utica Mansion owned by Angels Camp's former Mayor, Tad Falendorf. Erik is a local firefighter so the entire wedding party arrived by fire truck with the Bride conveyed to the wedding aboard her own vintage fire truck as well. The weather was perfect and the assembled guests never needed the "oh so clever" programs/fans....

Three hundred seventy five of the riders participated in the 100-kilometer route, while the rest rode the nearly 100-mile course. Many riders on the 100-mile course finished in under 8 hours......
