Angels Camp, CA...The Bank of Stockton was taken over yesterday by many of our four legged friends waiting patiently for their chance to sit on Santa's lap and possibly get in a request for a few treats under the tree as well. The Calaveras Humane Society's "Paws & Claus" was back for 2012 and drew a steady stream of pets with their owners in tow to get their holiday pictures taken...

Frances Elizabeth (Bette) Airola 1926 - 2012

Angels Camp, CA... Angels Camp resident, Frances Elizabeth (Bette) Airola, passed away November 21 at Foothill Village in Angels Camp. She was 86. Mrs. Airola was born in Woodland, Calif. To Samuel and Frances Fellows on February 12, 1926. She grew up in Amador County and attended Sutter Creek High School when she met Bill Airola. They were married on July 11, 1943. She graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1944. They had three children whom they raised on the family ranch in Carson Hill. She worked for Virgil Airola Law Office and later at Calaveras Casuals in San Andreas. She owned her own store, Country Elements, located in Murphys, then in Angels Camp....
