Angels Camp, CA...Put together your finest duds and display them across Main Street. Just like the miners of yesteryear, you can get all gussied up for the Jubilee. There are six lines available. All line participants will receive a plaque. The winning entry will also receive 25 admission passes to the Fair and the people’s choice award will receive 20 admission passes to the Fair. The public can vote at the Chamber office or at the Visitor’s Bureau in downtown Angels Camp. Legend has it…

Linden, CA….Last Friday 3/14/2008, Bret Harte Swim team faced off Calaveras Swim team at Linden High School. Bret Harte was defeated by Calaveras in both group’s boys and girls in the case of small numbers. Calaveras has 22 girls and 13 boys to Bret Harte's 25 total. They did their best for what they had. Angels Camp, CA….A structure fire has been reported at 1104 Bragg Street in Angels Camp. Angels Camp Fire Department was first on scene with three engines; engine 211,212, and 213. Angels Camp, Altaville Melones, Murphys, and San Andreas fire were all departments dispatched. All engines were released except for Angels Camp Fire and one engine from Altaville Melones. “Erik Alldrin and Dennis Brower were the first firefighters on scene with engine 211 and were able to extinguish the fire from the deck,” shared Assistant Chief Terry Bullock.....

Tryon has been serving Calaveras County since the early 1980s. He started off on the Planning Commission and then was elected by one vote in a squeaker against one of his friends, Tony Tyrell. City of Angels Camp City Council Will Be Busy Bee's on Tuesday

The Angels Camp City Council will be busy bee's on Tuesday, March 18th. First they will meet at 2:30pm at the Board of Supervisor's Chambers for a Study Session. This will be a Presentation/Discussion with the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce on Economic Development. They will then adjourn and meet up again at the Fire House in Angels Camp for their regular meeting at 6pm where they will discuss RESOLUTION NO. 08-10 OPPOSING THE ADDITION OF TWO NEW SEATS ON THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO). APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 08-10. A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION OF ADDING TWO ADDITIONAL SEATS ON LAFCO; UPDATE ON NEW MELONES FEES. The full agenda is enclosed for your viewing pleasure.....

"Building Year" for the Bret Harte Swim Team ~By Hanna Heath

San Andreas, CA…. It's been told that swimming is a wimpy sport, but I don't see it. They don't get timeouts in the middle of a race, they can't stop and catch their breath, they can't roll on their stomachs and lie there, and they can't ask for a substitution. It’s more of an endurance and mind focusing sport. For the past four in a half weeks the Bret Harte High School swim team has been practicing their endurance at The Right of Passage east of San Andreas. The construction of the swimming pool at Calaveras High has made it extremely difficult for Bret Harte to even have a team due to “NO” pool facilities…..
