Angels Camp, CA...Camp Sew Fun is a 3 day summer workshop that introduces boys and girls, ages 8 to 18, to the basic skills of sewing AND at the end of the 3 days they will take home their own Bernette 46 sewing machine! While learning about their machine they will make a tote bag, a skirt or pair of shorts, a small bag with a zipper and another bag with a button & buttonhole.Classes are limited to 4 students to ensure each child gets the attention needed to complete their projects...

San Andreas, CA...After conducting a thorough review of its revenue and expense requirements, the Calaveras County Water District is proposing a five-year water and wastewater rate change for all residential and commercial customers. The proposal will be considered by the District’s Board of Directors at a Public Hearing on July 10, 2013, and if approved, the rate change will be effective September 1, 2013....

Angels Camp, CA...This newly published book is titled, "The Sights and History of Arnold, Murphys and "Copper", and covers the history of Calaveras (south half) County from about 8,000 B.C. to today. An entire chapter is devfoted to the activities of our local indians. Then it jumps into the history of the first village that one would visit as they enter the county from the west, Telegraph City. Yes, it's just a ghost town today, but you'll see a picture of the Parks mansion which burned to the ground in 1921. It was a beauty! The foundations are still there for you to see...
