Murphys, CA...In Addition the the great shots Hanna Heath took of Little League Opening Day, we also stopped by the venues and took a bit of video as the season gets underway. The Ebbetts Pass Little League kicked off their season at Feeney Park in Murphys on Saturday morning. The place was buzzing with activity as the kids started swinging. It also seemed a bit like a neighborhood block party as all the familiar faces are back together for another season...

San Andreas Structure Fire & Live Power Lines Fell Across Hwy 49 This Morning~By John Hamilton Updated with Video

San Andreas, CA...There was a fire this morning at Hwy 49 and Pool Station Road possibly due to downed PG&E wires. The Little Miner 49'er Preschool was damaged in the fire. Hwy 49 was closed for about 1/2 hour this morning but is now re-opened. Speculation is that the fire may have been caused by a heater in the interior of the structure igniting due to the power fluctuations from the PG&E line that arched. Luckily there was nobody inside. Angels Camp, CA….One hundred and eighty little league players participated in the annual Calaveras American Little League Opening Ceremony, Saturday morning. The league has participants from the Mark Twain School District. Children as far as copper play in the Calaveras League. The teams started their season last week and will continue to play through June first….

Angels Camp, CA....The Angelus Ranus 4-H presented their 20th Annual Youth Poultry Show at Frogtown today. Judging began at 9:00 am and Showmanship at 10am . There were over 280 types of Poultry including ducks, geese, chickens, bantams, turkeys and many other type of birds. Kids from all over Northern California will brought their birds to show. Prizes were given for Best of Show, $100.00, Reserve of Show, $50.00. and many more.....

Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure to spend about 30 minutes with Supervisor District 4 Candidate and current Angels Camp City Councilman, Lee Seaton. Mr. Seaton has served on the Angels Camp City Council for 6 years and would like to apply his experience to county. Lee spent many of his professional years with Hewlett Packard before retiring in 2000. Mr. Seaton believes strongly that while we plan for the future we need to protect our historic rural heritage. As families arrived parents were able to schedule registration appointments for their incoming freshman.
