Angels Camp, CA...On 12-31-09, at approximately 5:30 PM, the Angels Camp Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Bret Harte Road on a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers were informed by the victim that she had been pushed from the vehicle by her boyfriend during an argument...

Angels Camp, CA...On 01-02-10, at approximately 10:25 AM, an officer responded to 1284 S. Main Street, Orphan Annie’s Emporium, on a report of a theft. A store employee reported that an unknown suspect removed a glass pane from a display case containing numerous jewelry items and took them. Thirty (30) jewelry pieces were taken, as well as some sterling silver tableware. The total loss is estimated at over $16,000.00....

Each year, the Chamber recognizes an outstanding business at the Chamber’s Annual Installation Dinner. Chamber members nominate businesses for consideration. A committee of Chamber Directors review each of the nominations according to the criteria established for the Business of the Year. The criteria for judging is: Community Involvement, Chamber Involvement, Business Successes, Charitable Involvement and the general business background. Each of the nominees must be a chamber member in good standing. The 2009 Business of the Year was The PineTree.net.....

Angels Camp, Ca....The Fairgrounds is holding a Livestock Information Night on Monday, January 4th for all Leaders and Parents. It starts at 6:30 and will be held in the Frogeteria. You can learn what's new for 2010 Fair. The Livestock Superintendent, Fair Staff and Auction Committee will be there to answer any questions and let you know about rule changes that may affect you this year.

Father Henry Johnston, Pastor Emeritus, Has Passed Away |

| Angels Camp, CA....Fr. Henry Johnston, Pastor Emeritus, has passed away. He was known as Pastor Emeritus at St Patrick's Church, Angel's Camp where he served from 1985 - 2002. Survived by sister, Frances O'Dowda, Ravensdale, Co. Louth, Ireland and brother Thomas, Dundalk, County Louth Ireland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Prior to Angel's Camp, Fr. Johnston served the Stockton diocese as an associate pastor in both Stockton and Modesto. A ready friend, Fr. Johnston was widely loved by his parishioners. As one put it, "He was the best of priests, orthodox and faithful ..... |
