Ambulance Contracts Look Good To Go For another 5 years

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/26/2010 07:29 AM
San Andreas, CA...The focal point of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday was the study session on renewing the County's contract with it's existing providers. American Legion Ambulance Service and Ebbetts Pass Fire and Protection District look good to go for another 5 years. The study session was lightly attended which is in some ways a good straw poll that most of the public were comfortable enough that they could comfortably stay away and not have their voices heard. This isn't to say there weren't concerns earlier in the process that were heard at previous public meetings. One change in response to concerns is all extended response time calls will be automatically

"Every 15 Minutes" was Impactful and Sobering at Bret Harte This Morning ~ Photos By Jeff Rasmussen

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/25/2010 01:54 PM
Angels Camp, CA...The "Every 15 Minutes" accident dramatization this morning was a sobering reminder to the students that life can be taken or forever changed in an instant. These programs have been shown to be very effective at lowering the incidents and severity of the underage drinking problems. This morning they took the realism up a notch with the closure of Murphys Grade Road by the high school and staging the accident on actual roads. We had planned on being at the event in person but we were following the overnight snowmobile fatality near Spicer Reservoir. The fatalities and injury accidents we cover are always a stark reminder to us and hopefully to you of the fleeting and precious nature of life. Jeff was gracious enough to take over 200 photos for us. Our viewers are actually lucky we missed at Jeff's photos are much better than our would have been anyway...
