Angels Camp, CA....The 7th and 8th graders of Mark Twain School gave it their all with an utterly riotous performance of “Hurricane Smith and the Garden of the Golden Monkey.” The show began with a beautiful vocal performance of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” sung by Karly Kuntz, accompanied by her own backup singers Lindsey Michaels and Tamara Pheiffer. The awestruck audience was enraptured by her vocal skills. This young lady can sing!...

Angels Camp, CA...The City of Angels Camp is asking the public to help name the newly designed frog mascot recently approved by the City council to represent the City’s new brand identity. Voting boxes and ballots have been distributed to 50 stores, banks and offices throughout Angels Camp. The contest runs until Sunday April 11, and the winning name and winner will be announced at the April 20 Angels Camp City Council meeting....

Angels Camp, CA...The finale of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is the hard hitting, spectator favorite, Destruction Derby. The Derby is held annually on Sunday evening of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee. The 2010 Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee has openings for contestants to enter the Destruction Derby and Power Puff event. Applications are available at the Frogtown office, and online at www.frogtown.org. Entries need to be turned in by Sunday, May 16 before noon. There is still space for additional contestants. Contact the fairgrounds for more information, 209-736-2561. The entry fee is $75 for the destruction derby, $25 for powder puff and $15 for additional pit passes. ....

Angels Camp, CA....On Thursday ,March 25th at 6:30pm. a Special Meeting has been called for the City of Angels City Council at the UPA Board Room. The City Council of the City of Angels will hold a special meeting to participate in a discussion among representatives of local governmental entities and interested members of the public to consider partnering on regional water and wastewater projects along the Highway 4 Corridor. This is a follow up to a meeting organized by Calaveras County Water District that was held on February 18, 2010.....

Angels Camp, CA...One of the central issues in the Raggio case has been where the allegations of impropriety originated. Coroner Raggio has maintained that they grew out of relationship issues with a former girlfriend and were vindictive in nature. This was provided to us and has been released. ANGELS CAMP – The decks of a 25-foot-long paddlewheel steamboat will explode with a national marionette show at this year’s Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The Mitchell Marionettes will be featured in KidZone three times each day of the Fair, May 13 – 16, 2010. KidZone is a child-centered activity area that is fully sponsored by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital....
