Sonora, CA...September 14, 2021— The USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region will lift the regional closure order affecting National Forests in California at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 15. A key factor in the decision was an anticipated increase in available firefighting resources to California due to fire danger lessening in other areas of the country.

Neal (D-MA) announced that the Committee will continue consideration of legislative proposals under the budget reconciliation instructions on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. ET and Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. ET. Sacramento, CA...California’s COVID-19 Rent Relief Program is reaching a significant milestone today – by the end of the day, more than $1 billion in funding will be obligated – meaning the money has either been paid or approved for payment and awaiting disbursement – and will assist over 74,000 additional households. More than $526 million of the $1 billion in rental and utility assistance has already been distributed to 44,432 low-income California households who suffered financial hardship because of the pandemic.

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras Public Health mobile vaccination van is now offering COVID-19 PCR testing. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. COVID-19 tests are free to the individual. Please bring health insurance information if available. If you're uninsured, the government pays for your test. Register online to reduce waiting times at https://bit.ly/3wpNEUU. People who do not have internet access can register at the site.

City of Angels Camp, Union Public Utility District & Utica Water & Power Authority Adopt a 15% Water Conservation Target

Angels Camp & Murphys, CA...Residents who live in the greater Murphys and Angels Camp area are being asked to curb water use by 15% compared to 2020 usage. This voluntary request was approved by the Union Public Utility District, City of Angels Camp and Utica Water and Power Authority.
