Briefing by Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/04/2018 10:50 PM
Washington, DC...Good afternoon. Apologies for the delay. Today, we solemnly remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., who was viciously gunned down in Memphis 50 years ago this evening. In what would prove to be the final public speech of his incredible life, Dr. King said: “Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And [so] I’m so happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

EPA Administrator Pruitt: GHG Emissions Standards for Cars and Light Trucks Should Be Revised

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/03/2018 09:45 AM
Washington, DC... U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt is announcing the completion of the Midterm Evaluation (MTE) process for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards for cars and light trucks for model years 2022-2025, and his final determination that, in light of recent data, the current standards are not appropriate and should be revised. Administrator Pruitt is also announcing the start of a joint process with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to develop a notice and comment rulemaking to set more appropriate GHG emissions standards and Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.

President Trump Before a Working Lunch with Heads of the Baltic States

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/03/2018 07:07 PM
Washington, DC...Okay, thank you very much. Today, it’s my pleasure to congratulate Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania on the 100th anniversary of their independence. That’s really quite a great achievement, and congratulations. And I’m honored to have you with us in the White House and the Oval Office. We covered a little territory today. Right? Really tremendous. One hundred years. We’re thrilled to celebrate this historic milestone by welcoming all of you to our country. And I know you’ve been here a little bit before, but this is something special. So we really enjoy having you.

President Trump's Weekly Address on Sanctuary Cities & States

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/02/2018 08:31 AM
Washington, DC...My Fellow Americans, Protecting the safety and well-being of American Citizens is my highest duty as President. Yet, lawless sanctuary jurisdictions are nullifying federal law, obstructing immigration enforcement, and releasing thousands of criminal aliens into U.S. communities to prey on innocent victims. It’s absolutely terrible. For example, in recent days, San Francisco officials denied ICE’s request to turn over a criminal alien with a prior conviction for battery and a charge for driving under the influence.
