Copperopolis, CA...West Nile Virus has been detected in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County. On 10/4/12 Calaveras County Public Health Division received confirmation of the first detection of West Nile Virus for 2017 in a chicken from Copperopolis.

Angels Camp, CA...We took The Elevated Evening News™ on the road tonight and streamed live starting at 6 pm from the Bret Harte Theatre. Tonight was a Cannabis Centric Angels Camp City Council Meeting. Audio improved as meeting got underway and the replay now posted...hour three is below and hours two and one enclosed. It was another low key public meeting on Cannabis. Was there yelling? Check. Did someone get ejected? Check. Is Cannabis except for medical personal cultivation still banned within the city? Check. In the end the ban mood carried the day. Cannabis deliveries within city limits will be regulated as well. The problem is however is crafting delivery regulations with almost no way of actually implementing them is a problem. Is essence option two was the decision. We pasted in the regulation of deliveries option from the original options to give you a quick graphic to see the outcome.

The National Park Service’s American Military website contains a list of events as well as other military-related outreach and information. “More than 100 national parks have direct connections to American military history, including frontier forts and Cold War sites, battlefields and national cemeteries, memorials and patriotic shrines, “ said Acting National Park Service Director Michael T. Reynolds. “These special places pay tribute to our veterans and serve as reminders of their selfless service and sacrifice throughout the history of our nation.”

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council is wading into the Marijuana issue within the City. On Monday evening November 13th at 6pm they will be meeting at the Bret Harte High School Theater to handle any expected crowd size. The main agenda item is to consider the adoption of an urgency moratorium ordinance concerning the cultivation, commercial and retail sale and delivery of marijuana and related land uses. We plan on live streaming this meeting as well...

Sacramento, CA...Individuals planning to sell cannabis or cannabis products beginning January 1, 2018, must register with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) for a seller’s permit. Cannabis cultivators, processors, manufacturers, retailers, microbusinesses and distributors who make sales are required to obtain and maintain a seller’s permit as a prerequisite for applying for a license with the Bureau of Cannabis Control, the Department of Food and Agriculture, or the Department of Public Health. It is easy and convenient to register online with the CDTFA. Individuals who already have a seller’s permit (including a permit previously issued by the Board of Equalization) do not need to register for a new one.

Brown Jr. called on global faith leaders to help "awaken the world" to the threat of toxic carbon pollution. "Until religious leaders from every part of the globe and from every denomination are engaged, we're not going to be able to move aside the huge rock of indifference, complacency and inertia," said Governor Brown.
