DNA is a Match in Fatal Mountain Lion Attack in El Dorado County

Sacramento, CA...The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has confirmed that the mountain lion euthanized in a remote area near Georgetown was the same animal involved in a fatal attack earlier in the day. CDFW’s Wildlife Forensics Laboratory determined today that DNA samples collected from the scene match samples taken from the lion carcass. The male mountain lion weighed approximately 90 pounds and appeared to be in healthy condition.

Washington, DC.....The Justice Department launched the National Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) Resource Center (the Center) which  will provide training and technical assistance to law enforcement officials, prosecutors, attorneys, judges, clinicians, victim service and social service providers, community organizations, and behavioral health professionals responsible for implementing laws designed to keep guns out of the hands of people who pose a threat to themselves or others.

San Francisco, CA...AT&T is requesting: Approval to be relieved of its Carrier of Last Resort (COLR) obligations in certain areas of California. If approved, AT&T would no longer be required to offer landline telephone service where it is currently required to offer Basic Service in those areas. Basic Service includes nine service elements such as Lifeline rates for eligible customers, free access to 9-1-1, Telephone Relay Service, and directory and operator services.

Take Sweet Rosie Home Today!

San Andreas, CA...Meet sweet Rosie, a female Belgian Malinois mix, estimated to be about 5 months old and weighing 35 pounds. A puppy.  Rosie was found with her sister Lily and both were in sad shape. After several vet visits, special meds and baths, and lots of love from shelter volunteers, they are ready to find their homes. Rosie is more needy but will relax after a cuddle session. They are well socialized and playful.
