Posted by: thepinetree on 04/05/2018 08:49 AM
Sacramento, CA...Joining a coalition of 15 Attorneys General and the City of Chicago, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over its failure to reduce methane emissions from existing oil and natural gas operations, as required under federal law. Methane is many times more dangerous in trapping heat than carbon dioxide, and the majority of methane emissions from the oil and natural gas sector – up to 90 percent – comes from existing equipment. President Donald J. Trump Proclamation on the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/04/2018 09:20 AM
Washington, DC...Fifty years ago today, on April 4, 1968, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was tragically assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. Though he was taken from this earth unjustly, he left us with his legacy of justice and peace. In remembrance of his profound and inspirational virtues, we look to do as Dr. King did while this world was privileged enough to still have him. We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters lest we perish together as fools. We must embrace the sanctity of life and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. As a united people, we must see Dr. King’s life mission through and denounce racism, inhumanity, and all those things that seek to divide us.

Briefing by Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/04/2018 10:50 PM
Washington, DC...Good afternoon. Apologies for the delay. Today, we solemnly remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., who was viciously gunned down in Memphis 50 years ago this evening. In what would prove to be the final public speech of his incredible life, Dr. King said: “Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And [so] I’m so happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”
