It is my daughter, so she should probably give me a good introduction — I was counting on that — (laughter) — and for the incredible leadership that you’ve shown with the White House Workforce Initiative. You really have been incredible, Ivanka. Thank you.

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/31/2018 03:41 PM
Avery, CA...Late Monday afternoon, the Hunter Dam Fire burned within 10 feet of the Calaveras County Water District’s Hunter’s Water Treatment Plant facility in Avery, which provides water service to more than 6,000 customers who live along the upper Highway 4 Corridor. CCWD is grateful to emergency responders who quickly doused the fire before it damaged the District’s plant, which could have caused a widespread disruption to the community’s water supply. “The firefighters on this incident worked like a well-oiled machine,” said Scott Lunsford, CCWD’s Hunter’s Water Treatment Plant supervisor. “It was a very well-orchestrated effort. These firefighters are awesome.”

Wildfire Smoke Impacts Air Quality

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/30/2018 08:18 PM
San Andreas, CA...Smoke from the Northern California fires continues to impact air quality in Calaveras County. The impact varies, based on geographical location and wind direction, but has the greatest impact at this time on sensitive populations, including individuals with heart and lung disease, elderly persons, infants, children and pregnant women. Because the Calaveras County geography may entrap smoke in certain valleys and basins, the
following visibility chart can be used to determine the air quality where you are. Visibility provides an excellent measure of air quality.
