The Planning Commission to Discuss Proposed Truss Manufacturing And Assembly Plant in Mountain Ranch at Tomorrow's Meeting

Calaveras County, CA...The Planning Commission will discuss a proposed Truss Manufacturing and Assembly Plant in Mountain Ranch at Thursday's morning meeting. The proposed applicant, Sender's El Dorado Ranch, LLC, is requesting to amend the existing zoning RR-5 to GF. The current structure on the parcel is a 24,000 sf steel building which will be used as the plant. The parcel is located at Mountain Ranch Road and Michel Road in Mountain Ranch.

Angels CAMP, CA..."I wanted to let you know that I have agreed to put my name forward to fill the empty City Council seat vacated by Paul Raggio's untimely death. While no one can even begin to fill Paul's shoes or have the knowledge of Angels Camp that he had, I hope that through my experience with the Angels Camp Business Association and other organizations here in town, I will be able to represent the needs and issues of local businesses and property owners, as well as those of the entire community." The decision will be made at Tuesday's City council meeting. There are currently four other applicants:

Ceremony Will Commemorate Groundbreaking for Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade to Be Funded With $10.575 Million in Stimulus Funds

San Andreas, CA...The San Andreas Sanitary District (SASD) in Calaveras County announces the groundbreaking for improvements to the San Andreas Wastewater Treatment Plant. The designing engineers are ECO:LOGIC Engineering of Rocklin, Calif. SASD manages the collection and treatment of wastewater for the greater San Andreas area and its roughly 2,300 residents. This project is significant because it will be funded by $10.575 million in federal stimulus money: approximately half in the form of a grant and the remainder with a 1 (one) percent low-interest loan....

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Meet Tuesday at 9am

Calaveras County, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday June 16th at 9am for their weekly meeting. Some of the agenda items being discussed will be the Approval of a Ward Housing Agreement between Calaveras County and the Yuba Sutter Bi-County Juvenile Hall under which Yuba and Sutter counties will provide detention and treatment services for juvenile wards at the Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center; A Minute Order incorporating changes to the County Investment Policy and Guidelines for FY 09/10; A Resolution authorizing an expenditure contract not to exceed $58,725.00 between Calaveras County and Schneider Learning Services; Sheriff/Administration status update for new Adult Detention. $128 Million Allocated to Transporation Projects to Expand State's Economy....$36 million targeted to stimulus projects

Sacramento, CA....The California Transportation Commission today allocated $128 million to 75 transportation projects statewide, including $36 million in economic stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). Contractor’s bids have been significantly lower than expected on several Caltrans Recovery Act projects that received funding earlier this spring. In its ongoing effort to maximize all Recovery Act dollars coming to California, Caltrans will use the savings from these projects to fund other projects that would not have otherwise received funding. $25 million of the total stimulus funds allocated today were made possible through these savings. ....

Taxpayers Host 2nd “Tea Party”

The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association (CCTA), according to its President, Al Segalla, is hosting a second “Tea Party” to honor our founding fathers and to protest the hurtful increases in spending and taxation at the state and federal levels. The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. The first local Tea Party was held on April 15. Although anticipating perhaps 20 – 40 people to attend, the tax protest is considered by CCTA to be a huge success with approximately 200 people gathering and many bringing signs. Nearly all attendees signed petitions, which were sent to our state and federal representatives calling for an end to the bailouts, substantial reduction in the size of government and stopping runaway spending....
