Valley Springs, CA....The next meeting of the Greater Valley Springs Advisory Group will feature a question and answer session with Tim McSorley, Executive Director of the Calaveras Council of Governments (COG). 3,000 Vote By Mail Ballots & Provisional Ballots Left To Count...District One Possibly & District Four Definitely Still in Play

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 11/06/2008 04:23 PM
San Andreas, CA...We just spoke with Calaveras County Elections office. They apparently still have over 3,000 ballots left to count. The close supervisor's races are technically still in play. District 1 is probably stable as there is enough of a spread that a change in the outcome is unlikely. District Four on the other hand with only 111 votes separating the candidates is still in question. It depends on how many of the outstanding ballots are from Murphys proper vs how many were from other precincts. Lee Seaton was pulling consistently higher in Murphys and Tom Tryon was pulling better outside of Murphys...

Instant Key Local Race Updates as They Come In....30 of 30 Are In~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/04/2008 04:52 PM

San Andreas, CA...In addition to the complete county results below which come from their website, we will also be doing quick posts of the Key local results. We will be partying with Karen Varni all night at the County Clerks Office....Who will the new District One Supervisor Be? Will it be Tofanelli as it was in June or will Zerrall take it home in November? Will Tryon become one of the longest serving County Supervisors in State History or will Angels Camp City Councilman make the jump to Supervisor? Will Measure K measure up? How did we vote locally on the Presidential Race? Who will the new Angels Camp City Council Members Be? We just spoke with Karen Varni and because of the length of the Ballot it will probably be about 8:30pm when we get the results of the over 11,000 Vote By Mail Ballots. For this election she mentioned that the county is now about 55% VBM.

John has been at the County Clerks Office all Night....these results are up to the minute! Whata Guy! All of the precincts are in....there are still over 1,000 dropped off VBM ballots to be counted

Congratulations Everyone!

Bret Harte School Board Says Thank You and Goodbye to Clayton Rasmussen ~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/03/2008 08:33 PM
Angels Camp, CA...For the last 27 years Clayton Rasmussen has been a fixture on the Bret Harte School District Board. Clayton was honored during a ceremony tonight at the Bret Harte Board Meeting. All of the board members and several members of the audience spoke to thank Clayton for his years of service. Since 1981 Mr. Rasmussen has according to his peers been a steady voice reminding all the board members that every decision they make should be viewed in the context of "Is this the best decision for the Kids?"...
