PG&E Moving Forward with Public Safety Power Shutoff in Portions of 17 Counties in Sierra Foothills, North Bay, Small Parts of San Mateo and Kern Counties. 2pm Estimated Shutoff in Our Area

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/23/2019 10:11 AM
San Francisco, CA...Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) confirmed this morning its plan to move forward with a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in portions of the Sierra Foothills and North Bay, as well as small parts of San Mateo and Kern counties. This PSPS decision was based on forecasts of dry, hot and windy weather that poses a higher risk for damage and sparks on the electric system and rapid wildfire spread. The shutoff is expected to impact approximately 179,000 customers in 17 counties: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, El Dorado, Kern, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Mateo, Sierra, Sonoma, Tehama and Yuba.

Wall Street Journal Editorial: "California's Gasoline Panic"

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/23/2019 05:58 PM
New York, NY...Democrats in California have worked hard for years to inflate gasoline prices, but now they're searching for a fall guy as voters gripe about how much they're paying to fill up. Round up the usual fossil-fuel suspects! California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday ordered state Attorney General Xavier Becerra to investigate oil companies for allegedly overcharging consumers and price-fixing. Gas prices in California average $4.13 per gallon, about $1.50 more than the rest of the U.S. "The mystery surcharge adds up, especially for cost-conscious, working families," the Governor declared.

Cannabis Logic, Cannabis Black Market & Reasonable Rules ~ Al Segalla

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/22/2019 11:30 AM
Copperopolis, CA...I attended the recent Board of Supervisor meetings concerning commercial cannabis regulation. It was a hate fest with little good will and logic. Some thoughts: The problems with criminal activity relate to the black market grows, not the permitted ones. This was confirmed by the Sheriff and Ag Commissioner.

Calaveras Board of Supervisors Approve Commercial Cannabis Regulations

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/22/2019 12:12 PM
San Andreas, CA...As widely expected the Calaveras Board of Supervisors Approved Commercial Cannabis Regulations in the county. With the current makeup of the board a 3-2 vote to approve as almost assured. Needless to say this has been and remains a contentious topic. The newly approved draft of the ordinance can be viewed by clicking on the Board Photo below or the following link Snapshot-26424. This is draft language and the final resolution may have language cleaned up and changed slightly but on the whole it should be largely as below...
