Congressman Tom McClintock Visits San Andreas For Town Hall |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/20/2014 11:23 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...The new CCWD board room was the venue that Congressman Tom McClintock met with constituents at a town hall last night. Solutions to our water problems, The Affordable Health Care Act, The Rim Fire timber and more were subjects of not only his initial comments in the video below but also the question and answer session afterwards. Congressman McClintock was at a meeting on California water conditions immediately before this town hall. The Congressman who has been one of the right's most conservative voices and votes is being "Primaried" by a Republican challenger who is positioning himself as a more centrist candidate. It is doubtful of the success of the campaign but it may highlight the divisions within the Republican party....

Sacramento, CA ... Caltrans has announced that the condition of the pavement on California’s highways is at its healthiest level in more than a decade, according to the recently released 2013 State of the Pavement Report. “It’s important to maintain and preserve the existing transportation system first and foremost before making other improvements,” said Caltrans Director Malcolm Dougherty. “This improvement in our pavement proves that we are committed to doing just that.”

Mike Borean For Calaveras County Supervisor District Three |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/18/2014 03:06 PM
|
Murphys, CA...The Government Center is one of the first places a business investor will visit when determining if Calaveras County is a good place to do business. If an investor is met with lackluster customer service or given the run-a-round, that investor will look elsewhere. If a business owner finds it difficult to maintain a business here, he/she will consider moving elsewhere. We must strive to provide outstanding customer service; first, because it is the job of public servants to do so, but most importantly, it is good for business....

Weekly Address: Rewarding Hard Work by Strengthening Overtime Pay Protections |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/15/2014 08:09 AM
|
Washington, DC....Hi, everybody. In this year of action, I’m doing everything I can, with or without Congress, to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I ordered a review of our nation’s overtime rules, to give more Americans the chance to earn the overtime pay they’ve worked for. Here’s why this matters. Our businesses have created 8.7 million new jobs over the past four years. But in many ways, the trends that have battered the middle class for decades have grown even starker. While those at the top are doing better than ever, average wages have barely budged. Too many Americans are working harder than ever just to keep up...

Auditor, Rebecca Callen and Court Commissioner and Judge Candidate Grant Barrett were on hand as well.
