Some of you may not have heard yet that I have put together a benefit for a very important person in my life, and my husband, Mike, has been dutiful in agreeing to make a fool of himself on my and the benefit's behalf. Let me start out by telling you a little story. When you are a girl growing up in Calaveras County, especially the kind of little girl who grows up singing, dancing, acting, etc., there is nothing more important that looking forward to running for Miss Calaveras... for me it was more important than dreaming about a beautiful wedding one day. So ....

Frogtown, USA....The Calaveras County Fairgrounds has opened their barns up to more than just livestock this fall and winter. The barns are open for RV and Boat storage. RV and boat enthusiast looking for a place to store their vehicles for the winter will be surprised how convenient the program is at the fairgrounds. The livestock barns offer covered storage with easy pull.....

Sacramento, CA...Calaveras County's finest frog jockeys are at KCRA this morning promoting the new LEAP Frog Jockey Program were people from all over the world will be able to hire young local jockeys to LEAP their frogs for them at the 2012 Frog Jump. Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Hopping Into The Future. ~By John Hamilton

Frogtown, CA...It's transition time for Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. At tonights meeting of The Ad Hoc Advisory Committee, suggestions were made on the future structure of Fair and Frog Jump is recommending that the current “Friends of the Fair” organizations 501c3 be modified into the container that adds additional functionality of Operations and Licensing to it's fundraising activities. The “Friends of the Fair” would become the defacto operational entity for the new fair assuming the respective Boards of the FOF and the DAA agree to the changes...

Frogtown, USA.....After an exciting appearance on NBC’s TODAY SHOW last week, the Calaveras County Fairgrounds & Jumping Frog Jubilee is continuing its trip from the BIG APPLE to the BIG CAPITOL. The Morning Show on KCRA 3 News on KQCA My 58 in Sacramento will feature the famous jumping frogs of Calaveras County, and three of our local frog jockeys: Drew Sender, Breya Nobles and Kate Roberts. Frog handlers from the Frog Jump Committee will also be attending to ensure the best treatment for our amphibian friends....

Frogtown, CA...Meet the Candidates of the Mr. Calaveras candidates! You can vote for your favorite by contacting them directly, or by stopping by the Fairground Office or Little Angels Preschool. The Candidates are Tony Boitano, Sean Lewis, Bay Webster, Mike Neufeld, Jeremy Leonard, Stewart Segale and Brook Moes. Each vote costs $5, and are a direct donation to Miss Calaveras 1992 and cancer patient, Catherine Lewallen. Or donate $50 for 15 votes or 25 votes for $100. Mr. Calaveras will be he who can collect the most votes. For more information about the Mr. Calalveras pageant itself, go to The Miss Calaveras Volunteer Group Facebook page.

New York City, NY....Calaveras County's celebrated jumping frogs will take center stage in Rockefeller Plaza on August 31 when NBC's Today Show creates country fair fun for viewers across the nation. Bob Lema of Mokelumne Hill will be there to call the action as the show's four hosts try their hands at jumping frogs. The frog segment will be between 8:30 and 9 a.m. in the August 31 broadcast. Assistant Fair Manager Laurie Giannini explains, “Bob has been one of our volunteer Frog Wranglers for years, assisting with announcing both at the Frog Jump and off-site promotions for the event. He makes it fun for everyone with snappy banter about Frog Jump history and frog facts. So, when The Today Show called the Fairgrounds wanting to include us in this Fair-themed production he was the first person we thought of to represent Frogtown in New York City.”.....
