Disney's Beauty and the Beast to Aid Mind Matters

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/13/2018 07:19 AM
Columbia, CA...Sierra Repertory Theatre has awarded the preview performance of its production of the hit Broadway musical “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” to Mind Matters to be used as a major fundraiser. “We think this is a great way for people, young and old, to enjoy a wonderful evening in the theatre while helping Mind Matters to pursue its goal to help individuals and families cope with the consequences of autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disabilities,” says Mona Kayton, the Mind Matters board member who is in charge of organizing the event.

Vallecito, CA...It's a MINI-FESTIVAL! Not only do we have the estimable Jeremy Kittel on fiddle, with Joshua Pinkham on mandolin and Quinn Bachand on guitar, we take it up a notch by also presenting Della Mae! Since forming in Boston in 2009, Nashville- based string band Della Mae has established a reputation as a charismatic live act comprised of some of the finest players in bluegrass, Americana and beyond. These ladies were IBMA’s Emerging Artists of the Year in 2013, GRAMMY Nominees in 2014 for their debut album on Rounder Records, named among Rolling Stone’s “10 bands to watch for in 2015,” and have since traveled with the US State Department to over 18 countries spreading peace and understanding through music. “Smart and assured, [Della Mae has a] penchant for blurring the lines between bluegrass, folk, soul, and old-time traditions” -The Boston Globe

Supervisor Oliveira Setting the Record Straight

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/11/2018 06:22 PM
Arnold, CA...(June, 11, 2018)..Letter from Supervisor Oliveira, It seems as if I am having to clear up some bad information again. I am not involved in the Dennis Mills recall. I have no interest in it whatsoever. I also have no interest in the letter that was written in response to a letter Dennis Mills published. It states, I am pro regulation for cannabis. That could not be farther from the truth.

June Specials from Black Sheep Winery

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/10/2018 11:41 PM
Murphys, CA...Black Sheep Winery arrived in Murphys with the 1984 harvest. From that first harvest we produced our 1984 Amador Zinfandel. The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That's what makes us Black Sheep; we're different from the rest of the flock. We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.
