Murphys, CA....Get ready for the The 5th annual Ironstone Vineyards BBQ Competition and Classic Car Cruise and Display, SUNDAY, JUNE 5th. The grills are on fire, the smoke is churning, and the meat is sizzling. Competition starts at 10 am. Judging starts at 2:00 pm. Beer, wine and food for sale. BBQ samples from the competitors. Large grass area for a family day in the park. Come vote for the viewers choice award!! Specialty food vendors will be selling their products.....

Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Offering Weekly Drop in Grief Support Group

Murphys, CA...The Hospice of Amador and Calaveras will be providing a weekly grief support group on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:30. The group is a drop in group and is intended for adults, 18 and over. The group will meet at the First Congregational Church on Algiers Street in Murphys. All are welcome.

San Andreas, CA...The Great Redistricting Debate of 2011 starts with a redistricting study session tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm in the Board Chambers. This will have big impacts on upcoming Supervisor Elections. If District 3 has lost population should it be enlarged to include Murphys? Should District 4 be adjusted to include Copperopolis? This would make this district easier to represent as then it would align with the school districts and be cleaner geographically. Should Supervisor Tofanelli's District be adjusted?
