San Andreas, CA: Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital has announced they will be hosting a Summer Health Career Camp June 23rd to 27th at the hospital campus in San Andreas. The Camp is open to a maximum of twenty high school juniors and seniors who have a desire to gain more knowledge about careers in health care. The free week-long project includes a complete orientation and tour of the facility, three days of “job shadowing” with hospital staff, networking with hospital staff and leadership at special luncheons, CPR Certification class instruction and a special student/parent graduation luncheon on Friday...

Murphys, CA....Free Concert and Pizza Party for Mentally and Physically Disabled Adults Friday, June 20, from 3-5:30 p.m. at Harmony Life House in Murphys. Harmony Life House is hosting a free concert and pizza party for adults with mental or physical disabilities on Friday, June 20 beginning at 3 p.m. Christian Recording Artist Paula Nelson Shearer will be performing many songs from her two albums, plus new songs that have never been recorded. After the concert, the party will move next door to Pizza Plus for dinner. The event is free. Arnold, CA.....Our community stepped up to bat for Matt on Sunday June 8th. The Day started with a Poker Run in Farmington ending in Arnold. At the same time, many friends and family got together and walked, strolled and even ran a 5k to show their support for Matthew McCullough and his family. After this everyone met at the Cedar Center for a BBQ, Silent auctions with lovely items donated by many local people and businesses, snacks, live music, a dunk tank and more. Matthew was busy playing with his many friends when we stopped by. He looked very good and quite happy. The Cedar Center in Arnold was packed with people showing their support for this lovely boy and his family.....

Bluegrass and Woody Guthrie Music Slated for Second Concert of “Music in the Parks”

Calaveras County, CA....“Music in the Parks”, the free summer concerts series of the Calaveras Arts Council, moves to Valley Springs on Wednesday, June 25. This will be the second concert of the series which runs every Wednesday evening through August 20. Starting at 6:30 pm on the cool, green lawn of the Valley Springs Ballfield, the first half of the performance will feature lively down-home music of “Coyote Hill.” The second half will be devoted to Woody Guthrie songs performed by the cast of the recent Stage 3 Theatre production about this beloved American folk singer. .....

San Andreas, CA...The Lake Tulloch item packed the gallery for today's meeting. Even New10 from Sacramento was here for the festivities. There was a couple of hours of back and forth from both side of this issue. Some of the property owners had numerous stories about overcrowded vacation rentals clogging the the tightly packed neighborhoods in the Poker Flat area with people, boats & SUVs. They would like to see short term rentals banned from their area. An even larger number of citizens testified at the meeting about the vital nature of the vacation rental business to our local economy. Testifying were not only real estate and property professionals from the Copperopolis area but Don Fry, Doug Shinn, Dan Sieder, Anna Gutierrez and others from around the county weighed in on the topic....
