Brandi Clark's Celebration of Life Is August 13th |

Murphys, CA...Brandi Clark, 42, passed away on July 23, 2016 in Las Vegas while doing exactly what she wanted: spending time with her children. She was born in Alaska and spent some of her childhood in Georgia. She moved to Sonora, CA at age 15 and graduated from Sonora High School in 1992. Brandi was very community oriented, volunteering for Sober Grad for 5 years, raising funds for Harmony Ranch, participating in Relay for Life, volunteering at the See's candy booth to raise money for her son's track team and fostering kittens. She also lived for her kids and coached their soccer teams and was a Girl Scout leader. At the time of her death, she was set to welcome a foreign exchange student into her home.

Murphys, CA....The 2016 Ironstone Concert Series Rolls on with Train & English Beat tonight. We have had the pleasure of attending most of the shows. There have been great crowds and great music. We had already posted some photos and a video clip of Darius Rucker and here are a few shots of Goo Goo Dolls, Collective Soul & Tribe Society and Sublime with Rome & Dirty Heads. The Sublime concert pulled in about 4,000 on a Wednesday night which was a very good crowd for a mid week show.

Arnold, CA...On Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM a Public Town Hall meeting will be held at the Avery Middle School Auditorium 4545 Moran Road, Avery, CA to discuss the Tree Mortality issue facing Calaveras County, especially the Highway 4 corridor area. Representation from Calaveras County, CalFire, Ebbetts Pass Fire, CCWD, PG&E, CalTrans, US Forest Service, CA Office of Emergency Services and Sierra Pacific Industries will be in attendance to address and answer questions provided by the public in a question and answer format.

Quorum Health Consulting Contract Decision Pushed Back At MTHCD Board Meeting |

San Andreas, CA...The biggest item on yesterday's Mark Twain Health Care District Board meeting was pushed back until the August 24th meeting. There may need to be some state specific contract adjustments. The agenda item was: "Consider approval of an agreement with Quorum Health Resources LLC for a financial, operational and strategic assessment of hospital operations to determine the District’s ability to sustain itself as an independent hospital and identify alternatives if independence is not an option"
