CHP Reported a Motorcycle Collision at Hwy 26 and Humbug Creek Road This Morning with Major Injuries. (Updated with CHP release)

CHP reported a motorcycle collision this morning at Hwy 26 and Humbug Creek Road. Apparently there was a group traveling together and one was injured. Victim has been medi-flighted out to a local hospital with major injuries. We will keep you posted as we know more. (Update) They did a great job locating this young man. The CHP helicopter used his cell phone signal to locate his position even when he was not visible from above. CHP release is enclosed...

Murphys, CA,.... For the past two weeks 12 students have been learning acting skills during the annual Mirror Project presented by the Murphys Creek Theatre. Classes began June 30th for the summer youth conservatory and will ran until today, July 25th. The Mirror Project is designed for students of the arts from ages nine to sixteen, The Mirror Project offers invaluable training under the tutelage of professional artists from all walks of life........

San Andreas, CA....The BOS are back in action on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 9am. There will be Public Comment at 9:10am; Some of the agenda items being discussed will be a Minute Order authorizing the Director of the Health Services Agency to sign the Acceptance of Allocation Agreement from the Tobacco Control Section, in the amount of $150,0000 for tobacco use and prevention education; There will be a Minute Order approving a 10 year lease with CCWD for the existing White Pines Park area to be used as a Calaveras County playground and Recreation area; There will be a Closed Session regarding public employee discipline/dismissal/release. Full agenda is enclosed.....

Angels Camp, CA....If you did not have a chance to attend or catch our "Live" streaming of the Economic Summit that took place on Friday, we now have the replay up for your viewing pleasure.....The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce, together with the County of Calaveras and the City of Angels sponsored the 1st Annual Calaveras County Economic Revitalization Summit, a first time historic event, and the beginning of a county-wide ongoing design process. After months of planning, just over 150 of the best and brightest of our local minds met, strategized, planned, broke bread together and listened to some great speakers. Most of our current Supervisors and many department personell, Business Leaders, The City of Angels Camp management team, Educators and more were on hand. It was an all day event starting with the first speaker, Steve Art ,who is the economic development director for Lincoln CA. In recent years Lincoln was one of the fastest growing cities in the US....
