San Andreas, CA...The agenda for today's board meeting is enclosed and following is the notice that the budget meeting for the the 2013/2014 budget are upon us. COUNTY OF CALAVERAS FY 2013/14 RECOMMENDED BUDGET HEARINGS, TENTATIVE SCHEDULE: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will hold Recommended Budget Hearings commencing on June 11, 2013 through June 14, 2013, or until completion. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 – (following regular Board meeting, if time permits) Board Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249 Items not heard on Tuesday, June 11th, will be continued as follows, until completed: Wednesday through Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. June 12, 13 & 14, 2013 as necessary. CalWorks Sequoia Room, 509 E. St. Charles Street San Andreas, CA 95249. Avery, CA....The Avery Middle School 8th Grade class graduated on Thursday night in very nice ceremony with a beautiful forest vista in the background. There were great speeches and walks down memory lane. Another class is leaving the last vestages of childhood behind and moving squarley into young adulthood as they move on to Bret Harte High School or other options for their next phase in their path. We have over 90 photos and full video of the ceremony for you. Images of the program are at the end of the photo album. Congratulations to the Avery Class of 2013!!!

Murphys, CA...Zucca Mountain Vineyards tasting room and wine club manager receives her Wine Business MBA from Sonoma State University. Jody Jurgens, a 2006 graduate of Bret Harte High School, continued her education at Sonoma State University studying Wine Business Strategies and Marketing. Owners Carol and Gary Zucca generously offered Jody an internship in the summer of 2009, a requirement for her to receive her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2011. Jody continued part time employment with Zucca throughout her pursuit of her Wine Business Master of Business Administration...

Murphys, CA...To kick off this year’s season of First Fridays in the Park neighborhood gatherings, the sponsoring Murphys Community Club is actually staging the June event on the second Friday of the month, June 14, to avoid a conflict with the graduation ceremony at Bret Harte High School. “It has become a tradition to move our June performance ahead seven days,” states MCC co-president Suzanne Friedman. “With many of our families involved with Bret Harte we don’t want to compete with the school’s important year-end celebration.”

| Murphys, CA...A tour of the Buena Vista Cemetery will be led by cemetery trustee Maureen Elliott at the monthly meeting of the Calaveras Genealogy Society on Tuesday, June 11th from 10-11:30 am, 186 Cemetery Lane, Murphys. Drive through cemetery gates up Cemetery Lane to the top section to park and meet the tour group. Maureen's focus will be "The Unexpected Things Cemeteries Can Reveal to Researchers". Following the tour, we will share a brown bag lunch at Murphys Community Park. |
