Copperopolis Man Claims Robbery So Wife Wouldn't Find Out He Spent Money

Sonora, CA... On 12/18/13 about 10:30 A.M. Tuolumne County Deputies, CHP and Sonora P.D. were dispatched to the Junction Shopping Center on a report of a robbery. Fifty Four year old Joseph Garcia, of Copperopolis reported that he had been robbed at knifepoint in the Junction parking lot of 1400.00. Garcia gave a description of the alleged suspect. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies, Tuolumne County Narcotics Team, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Detectives, CHP and Sonora PD began an extensive area check for the suspect. Several people matching the description were contacted by law enforcement and interviewed....

Medical Center Employees Sharing Holiday Joy for Those Less Fortunate

Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center employees donated over 10,500 pounds of food during their annual holiday food drive. This brings their total donation through the Medical Center’s Food for Families program to 12,665 pounds of food for 2013. Yosemite, CA...The National Park Service (NPS) at Yosemite National Park is pleased to announce that the Record of Decision for the Restoration of the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias Final Environmental Impact Statement (Mariposa Grove Final EIS) was approved by the Regional Director on December 10, 2013. The Record of Decision (ROD) formally selects Alternative 2, South Entrance Hub for implementation. Alternative 2 was identified as the park’s Preferred Alternative in the October 2013 Mariposa Grove Final EIS. The Selected Action in the Record of Decision is substantially the same as described for Alternative 2 in the Final EIS...
