Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest will close roads and day-use areas on Groveland and Summit districts that are at high risk for landslides or flooding due to the forecasted weather conditions next week.

Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center is hosting a monthly Weight Loss Surgery support group for individuals who have had bariatric surgery or who are considering bariatric surgery. The group will meet once per month to provide ongoing support, encouragement and education to succeed in lifestyle changes after surgery. Discussions and topics will include diet, exercise and social support in a safe, fun and friendly environment. Guest speakers will be invited to speak on a variety of topics. Friends and family are also invited to attend.

Potential Flooding May Force Yosemite National Park To Close |

Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park is making preparations for visitor and employee safety in response to weather reports predicting significant precipitation, and possible flooding, over the next several days and through the weekend. The predictions for significant rainfall in Yosemite Valley, well above flood stage on the Merced River, could prompt the park to be closed in the next few days. People planning trips to the park, beginning tomorrow, Thursday January 5, 2017, should make alternate plans if the park does close.

Hwy 88 Closed In Carson Spur Area Due To Snow & Avalanche Control |

Kirkwood, CA...Clltrans is reporting that Hwy 88 is now closed in the Carson Spur area east of Silver Lake. Typically they close the pass here for avalanche control. They have not given an expected reopening time. So is you are heading up to ski this morning Bear Valley is the choice today. Chain controls are in effect past Arnold..
