Pinecrest, CA....Dodge Ridge first opened its slopes to skiers in 1950 with less than 50 seasonal employees, a single lodge, chair lift and rope tow. That year Earl Purdy, Founder of Dodge Ridge, joined the few pioneering ski resorts operating in Northern California. Dodge Ridge was purchased in 1976 by the Helm Family and guided by the Master Development Plan became a progressive and sustainable business for Tuolumne County by continually expanding its market and carrying out capital improvements decade after decade. ......

Sonora, CA...The new Kohl's Department Store is now open in the Junction Shopping Center. This store will bring 130 full and part time jobs to the area. Dignitaries and business leaders were on hand a few minutes ago for the ribbon cutting. Local Government & Business leaders including Tuolumne County Craig Pedro and Tuolumne County Economic Development's Larry Cope gave brief speeches but the real start of this mornings show were the Kohl's managers and employees who are bringing new shopping opportunities to the area...

Columbia, CA...Crews are working a vegetation fire in the Columbia area. Air units are overhead and additional units are staging at Columbia Elementary. More to follow..First update..TCU Command Center is reporting it in the 1/4 acre range near the airport. With the proximity to populated area lots of cavalry is inbound and on scene. Expect Traffic Delays through Columbia...Update as of 4:57pm..The incident commander has just called the fire contained. They expect resources to be on scene for the next 4 hours. They are releasing aircraft but ground units will remain..

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. – Kohl’s Department Stores (NYSE: KSS) is proud to open 21 new stores this fall including the Sonora, California location which will hold its grand opening on Wednesday, September 29. Fire News...Vegetation Fire Reported on Providence Mine Road

Tuolumne, CA...Crews are responding to a vegetation fire reported on 18836 Providence Mine Road in the Tuolumne Area. Units from multiple agencies and all aircraft out of the Columbia Air Attack Base. More to follow... Update One as of 11:55am. First on scene are reporting 1/2 to 1 acre in grass and oak woodlands with a couple of structures near by... Update as of 12:31pm. They have recently called the fire contained and crews are expected to remain on scene for the next couple of hours mopping up. The fire acreage should stay near the earlier estimates...

Sonora, CA...Join us tonight for Live coverage of the Calaveras vs Sonora Football game this evening at 7pm! The Calaveras High Redskins are sitting at 2-0 and are rested and ready to take on Sonora. The game starts at 7:30pm and will be there to bring you all the action. The 2-0 Bret Harte Bullfrogs will be playing tomorrow in Hughson. At the end of the fist quarter we are tied at 7-7. Very good game so far. We are live streaming on a wireless connection. If the feed stalls just restart the feed. Calaveras has just moved into the lead 13-7. At the half we are 21-21 in a great game. The feed will start for the 2nd half just after 9pm. Fire Update...Crews Working Fire in Mi Wuk Area...10:07am Forward Progress Stopped...Releasing Some Aircraft

Mi Wuk, CA...Crews are working a several acre vegetation fire in the Mi Wuk area. They are still calling in additional water tenders at this time. No structures are threatened at this time. More to to follow...Update as of 8:15am on what is being called the Shilo Incident. The fire is 5-6 acres; units from multiple agencies and aircraft out of Columbia and also from the Forest Service are on scene. Additional units are inbound and there are also several "Move Up And Cover" orders to reposition engines to maintain coverage in other areas. 8:45am Update...Hard work by the crews on the ground and retardant drops by the tankers are keeping the fire from gaining in size. It is still holding in the 5-6 acre range with no structures threatened... Update as of 9:10am from Lisa Williams at CAL-FIRE...Some of the acreage estimates are coming in at under the 5 acre range down in the 2 acre range. Update as of 10:07am..They are reporting that forward progress has stopped and they are releasing some of the aircraft. Update as of 11:19am...Fire entering mop up phase. Fire GPS'ed at 3.3acres. Great job everyone....
