Angels Camp, CA...The now 12-2 Bret Harte Varsity Bullfrogs are turning in another powerful soccer season. They dropped the Summerville Bears 3-1 on Tuesday night. Tonight they host a soccer "Big Game" when Calaveras rolls into Angels Camp...

San Andreas, CA...As league play entered high gear for the 2010 football season the Calaveras Redskins sent a message that they are here to play for the Mother Lode League title. The visiting Summerville Bears had to take the somber bus ride back down Hwy 49 on the end of at the losing end of the 46-14 game. We would like to thank Diane Fischer for letting us share the shots below.

Yosemite, CA...The Half Dome Cables will be taken down for the season on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. The cables are taken down each October for the fall and winter season. The cables will be put back up in the spring of 2011 as conditions permit...

Sonora, CA...Crews are working an accident on Hwy 49 at Pesce Way. One injury is reported. The vehicles are not blocking the roadway but emergency personnel are working the accident so please use caution...Update as of 9:43am..Units on scene are now reporting at least one lane is blocked at this time. You may want to avoid the are until the incident is cleared...

Sierra Rep wins regional arts grant

Sonora, CA....Sierra Repertory Theatre has been selected as one of 12 Central Valley arts organizations to participate in the second phase of the James Irvine Foundation’s Arts Regional Initiative. Sierra Rep will receive $350,000 over three years to improve marketing, box office operations and patron services, build a financial reserve and strengthen connections to professional artists. The Irvine Foundation selected leading arts organizations from Sacramento to Bakersfield that are viewed as leaders in their communities that contribute to their region’s cultural vitality. “Sierra Rep is very proud to receive this continued recognition and support,” said SRT Producing Director and co-founder Dennis Jones. “It’s gratifying to be viewed as an important regional asset.” “This is again the largest grant Sierra Rep has ever received, and we are the only theater in the .....

Cold Springs Home a Total Loss. $200k Damage to Home

Cold Springs, CA...The call came into dispatch at 4:47am this morning of a fully involved cabin in the 29,000 block of Shasta Drive in Cold Springs. 10 Units from as far away as Groveland worked the fire that destroyed the residents and caused $50,000 dollars in damage to the contents as well as the $200k loss of the structure. The home was unoccupied at the time. We would like to thank Lt. Robert Anzar Tuolumne County Fire Dept. for sending in these and several photos for recent fires...The official release is enclosed..

Fire Update...Crews Just Finished Up Work on 18 Acre Fire. Updates with Photos

Don Pedro, CA...We just checked in with Mike from the TCU Command Center in San Andreas and he told that crews have just called an 18 acre fire that started just before 3pm today controlled. Units from multiple agencies did a full wildland response to the fire off of Merced Falls Road....

Cold Springs, CA...Just before 5am this morning a call went out for s structure fire in the 29000 block of Shasta Drive. The home was a total loss and they called the incident controlled shortly after 8am this morning. We will pass along the incident report when it becomes available..
