Sonora, CA...Last night Downtown Sonora was transformed into one big party for their annual "Magic of the Night!" Hundreds of people lined the streets dancing to 3-4 different music venues. The shops were open late so everyone could shop til' they dropped. And boy were they busy! Very nice to see. The live music included...The Blues Box Band, Chains Required, Waterfall Jazz Trio, The Guns of the Chosen Few. They had all kinds of dancing including belly dancing. Santa Claus even made a visit....

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/08/2009 10:59 AM
Mt. Knight, CA...The Knight Fire's management successfully transitioned to a Type 3 team yesterday. With markedly lower overnight temperatures and humidity, fire activity has decreased with pockets in the fire's interior still burning. Firefighters continue to mop-up its perimeter, increasing control of the fire by putting out burning and smoldering portions around the exterior line, as well as pockets of active fire within its interior. Sonora, CA..."Dear Sonora Church Family, My father, Frank, died peacefully in his sleep early this morning at his home on Gibbs Drive. Betty and I along with mother were with him at the last. We had been singing hymns together in his room a short time before he passed. Dad was born in Covina, California and grew up in Sodaville and Sweet Home, Oregon. He attended Walla Walla College and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist church while a student there. His convictions led him to take a religion major. Dad married Jean Kingsbury, who also lived in Sweet Home, on August 10, 1952.....
