Jamestown, CA...Early Sunday morning, Deputy Knapp contacted several people near a gray Dodge Durango at Sierra Energy Gas Station in Jamestown. The vehicle’s registration was expired and a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from it.

Armed Bank Robbery at Yosemite Bank in Groveland. |

Groveland, CA...Deputies have been on scene investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Yosemite Bank on Main St. in Groveland this afternoon around 2:40. The man entered the bank with a small handgun and demanded money. He is described as a young white adult man wearing a black parka jacket, light colored cargo type pants (Khaki) with low pockets, a beanie hat with a neon green stripe, dark sunglasses and was carrying a silver colored backpack.

Jean Claire Simmons Lost Her Life in Saturday Collision on Tuolumne Road |

Tuolumne, CA...On December 2, 2017, at approximately 1325 hours, the Modesto woman was driving her Toyota eastbound on Tuolumne Road, east of Westside Road, at an unknown state of speed. For unknown reasons, she allowed the right side tires to travel off the right side of the roadway and onto the gravel shoulder. She over corrected and turned the Toyota abruptly to the left. The Toyota traveled out of control across the eastbound and westbound lanes of Tuolumne Road and the front of her car collided with a dirt/rock hillside on the north side of the road. She was flown by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Yosemite, CA....Last reported at Glacier Point on November 22, 2017. Yosemite National Park Rangers have positively identified the remains of Gerardo Cruz Hernandez, from Santa Barbara, California, who was last reported at Glacier Point on November 22, 2017. When he was reported missing, Park Rangers, with the aid of search dogs and a CHP helicopter, launched an extensive search looking for him. The search has been ongoing.

Ungentlemanly & Violent Criminal Behavior at Rosalinda's Leads to Sexual Assault Arrest |

Jamestown, CA...On Tuesday night, Tuolumne County Sheriff Deputies responded to Rosalinda’s Gentleman’s Club in Jamestown for a report of a sexual assault. Deputies contacted 40-year-old Jesiah Macredes who was living in a travel trailer on the property. Deputies learned that Macredes had armed himself with a knife and threatened to harm a woman as he forcefully held her down against her will and committed sexual battery. The woman had to fight to free herself and escaped out of a trailer window.

Home Lost to Fire in Chinese Camp Area Last Evening |

Chinese Camp, CA..From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept...Just before 7 PM, Deputies and Fire personnel responded to a fully engulfed house fire at the 13000 block of Red Hills Road in Chinese Camp. The home was occupied but the family was able to exit the home safely. The fire was contained to the structure and the cause is under investigation.

Sonora Area CHP Update on Thanksgiving MEP |

Sonora, CA...Our maximum enforcement period (MEP) for Thanksgiving 2017 was from 6 pm on November 22 to 11:59 pm on November 26. In CHP jurisdiction, there were 50 people killed in 41 traffic collisions. Additionally, 26 others were killed in incorporated cities. Last year, during the Thanksgiving MEP, 31 people were killed in 27 traffic collisions in CHP jurisdiction and 24 additional people were killed in traffic collisions within incorporated cities. Of the 50 people killed in CHP jurisdiction, 4 were pedestrians and the rest were traveling in vehicles. Out of the 46 vehicle occupants, 27 were without seatbelts. Statewide, CHP made 1057 arrests for DUI, up from 902 DUI arrests made last year.
