Restrictions Lifted on James E. Roberts Bridge on SR-120 Today at 2 P.M.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), has recently completed a $26.1 million rehabilitation project on the James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge that spans the Don Pedro Reservoir on State Route 120 (SR-120). One-way traffic controls that have been in effect during the construction are scheduled to be lifted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2017 (today).
Groveland, CA...The Tuolumne County Roads department has temporarily closed Old Priest Grade due to the icy road conditions. So please use caution in the area...
Sonora, CA...At around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night, a resident in the 400 block of Highway 49 heard a noise outside and discovered the tires on her vehicle, as well as the tires on her boyfriend's vehicle and the tires on her neighbor's vehicle, had been slashed. Officers responded and located a total of 9 vehicles with slashed tires in the areas of North Washington Street, Highway 49, and School Street. If anyone has information that may help identify the suspect(s), please call the Sonora Police Department at 209-532-8141.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Department...."We would like to congratulate Sgt. Patrick Griswold and Cpl. Bryan Rapoza on their retirement with the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office. Sgt. Griswold served in the Air Force for 4 years and Cpl. Bryan Rapoza served in the Army for 8 years. They joined our custody division one year apart from each other in 1990 and 1991.

Sonora, CA...On 12-19-2017, at about 8:30 P.M., Sonora Police Dispatch received a call of a male subject who was bleeding from his stomach in the area of the AMPM (15 Pesce Way). Officers responded to the area and located the subject, identified as Adam Gregory Overstreet, 39 years old of Jamestown. Officers observed Overstreet was covered in blood, but was refusing to comply with lawful commands. Overstreet was detained in handcuffs and then forcibly began to resist officers. Officers were finally able to gain control of Overstreet. Once officers gained physical control of Overstreet, he made death threats towards arresting officers. One officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the struggle with Overstreet.
