Sonora, CA... 7 April 2013, at approx. 4:30 pm, Officers were at a residence on the 300 block of Snell Street regarding a call for service. They contacted the resident, James Benites, 67 of Sonora. Benites gave consent to Officers to enter his residence....

Tuolumne & Amador, CA...Crew are working a single vehicle accident with a vehicle off the roadway on Smith Station and Greeley Hill Road. There is also an accident with unknown injuries on Hwy 49 and Trade Center Road in Amador County. Lets drive safe out there.....

Drug and Child Endangerment Charges in Sonora

Sonora, CA...30 March 2013, at approx. 9:57 am, the Sonora Police Department received a call of a possible drug transaction taking place in a parking lot, located at the intersection of Mono Way and Greenley Road. When an Officer arrived, he observed one vehicle leaving and made contact with the driver of the second vehicle. The Officer was able to obtain a license plate from the car that was leaving and recognized the driver.

Sonora, CA...1 April 2013, at approx. 9:44 pm, a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Corporal stopped a 1996 Buick Skylark on Mono Way near Greenley Road, for traveling only 10 MPH and swerving in and out of traffic. When the Corporal contacted the driver, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath and turned the stop over to members of the Sonora Police Department....

With spring in full bloom, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (SHP) is proud to provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience spring wildflowers from aboard a train pulled by the “Movie Star Locomotive” Sierra No. 3! While the Park is open daily, special Wildflower Train Rides are available on two Saturday afternoons -- April 13 & 20 -- and depart from the Railtown 1897 Depot promptly at 4:30 p.m. Prior to boarding the train, passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the wildflowers of California’s Sierra Nevada foothills. In addition, the Tuolumne County Master Gardeners will have a display at the Park on these special days with information about gardening with native plants...

Amador, Calaveras & Tuolumne, CA....There is non-injury accident on Hwy 4 past Cottage Springs. This is also the elevation that Chain Controls go into effect on Hwy 4 at this time. You will need them from Peddler Hill on up on Hwy 88. Hwy 108 is chain free at this time. Let be careful out there...
