Pinecrest, CA...A 71 year old Los Angeles resident sustained major injuries in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. He was riding his 2002 BMW motorcycle West on 108 when he turned from a direct course of travel, left the north roadway edge and struck a snow stake on the shoulder...

FIRE NEWS......Structure Fire on South Fork Road in Tuolumne County Involving One Fatality with Name Enclosed

Twain Harte, CA...Multiple crews are responding to a fully engulfed structure fire at 22798 Lower South Fork Road in Twain Harte. Initial traffic states that residents are still in the structure. Power lines are down in the area as well. Good luck crews. More to follow...Update 9:33pm, they are closing South Fork Road to traffic. Update 9:45pm, fire has spread to vegetation. Update 10:10pm, Just spoke with Andy at CAL Fire Command Center, structure is not contained as of yet. Vegetation spread contained at 1/4 of an acre. More to come as needed. Spoke to CAL Fire Command Center...Here is what they stated "Structure fire is Close to Containment as of 11:04pm. Structure is a total loss." (Update as of 5:50am...according to a very tired TCU dispatch center there was unfortunately one fatality in the fire. Details are still coming in and we will provide updates as this story continues to develop)....

Twain Harte, CA...Crews are also responding to solo vehicle accident where the vehicle is reported to be over the last report the victim is now out of the vehicle. A busy night in Tuolumne County. Update 9:45pm, Tow truck en-route. Please use caution if traveling in the area.

FIRE NEWS......Big Rig Fire on Rawhide Road in Tuolumne County

Tuolumne County, CA....Crews are Responding to a fire on Rawhide Road near Pulpit Rock Road in the Jamestown area. Updates to come if needed. UPDATE 9:13pm, Exact Fire location is at Rawhide and Omega Mine. Big Rig is possibly fully engulfed. Updates to come as needed. Update 9:35pm, fire has been controlled. Great job crews! PG&E is en-route for downed power lines. Should be arriving shortly.

Yosemite, CA....Today, firefighters continued to strengthen and hold the fireline near the Tamarack Flat Campground Road. This northeast segment of the fire will remain the focus of firefighters tonight, as there is still significant fire activity here. Firefighters continued mop-up along the rest of the perimeter and crews are working hard to clear hazards and make the roads safe for travel. Smoke conditions in Yosemite Valley, foothill communities and other areas of the park are improving significantly.....

Tioga Road Closure in Effect Through Holiday Weekend

For the safety of travelers and firefighters, the Tioga Road closure now in place from Big Oak Flat Road to White Wolf will remain in place through Labor Day weekend and until further notice. Firefighters are currently using the Tioga Road as a fireline in this area and will continue using all available resources to keep the fire south of the road. Hazards that necessitated this road closure include fire vehicle traffic, hazardous dead and burning trees along the roadside, and limited visibility due to smoke on the road.....

Big Meadow Fire Update as of 10:30am This Morning ....5,933 Acres, Still Remains at 55% Contained

Yosemite, CA...Today firefighters will continue to work on containing the fire at Tamarack Flat Campground Road and Tioga Road using all available resources. When conditions are favorable firefighters will conduct burnout operations along Big Oak Flat and Tioga Roads. Firefighters continue to reinforce lines around Foresta and El Portal. No major fire activity is reported in these areas......
A fire update meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm tonight (September 3rd) at Tenaya Elementary School, 19177 Hwy 120 in Groveland.

The Big Oak Flat Road is closed to through traffic at the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station to the junction of the El Portal Road. In addition, the Tioga Road is closed to through traffic from White Wolf to the Crane Flat Gas Station. All road closures will remain in effect through Labor Day Weekend. Hodgdon Meadow Campground remains accessible to visitors. Visitors on the east side of the park can still access Tuolumne Meadows, Olmsted Point, and White Wolf.

If you are attending the Strawberry Festival at Camp Mather this weekend please use the Evergreen Road. The Cherry Oil Road is closed through Monday due to traffic accessing fire camp at Drew Meadow.
