Sheriff's Deputies Arrest 27 Year Old Woman for Stolen Vehicle & More

Sonora, CA....From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."27-year-old Hailey Johnson’s luck ran out yesterday afternoon. Deputy Stephens spotted her driving an Acura with license plates registered to a Honda. A check of the Vehicle Identification Number revealed the Acura just so happened to be stolen out of Oakdale.

Modesto Man Arrested in Sonora for Vehicle Theft

Sonora, CA...From the Sonora Police Dept....On 03-18-2018, around 12:30 PM, Sonora Police Officers were called to the area of Highway 49 and Pesce Way for a possible drunk driver. The vehicle was described as a white Dodge pickup truck with paper plates. An Officer responded to the area and observed a vehicle matching the description pass him on S. Washington St. near Church St. The Officer was able to turn around and catch up to the vehicle. The Officer then conducted an enforcement stop and contacted the driver and passenger. The driver was identified as Daniel Lee Chisum, 22 years old of Modesto. The passenger was identified as Maurice Lincoln Matthews, Jr., 37 years old of Tracy.

Power Outages Drop to Under 500 in Tri-County Area

Arnold, CA...PG&E Crews have been hard at work and power is now flowing again for most of their customers in Amador, Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties. The Hwy 4, Hwy 88 & West Point areas are the last clusters of outages with over 50 or more in a single outage cluster.

Road Conditions Update...Hwy 88 Closed at Peddler Hill, Chain Controls On All Mountain Highways

Arnold, CA....The roadways this morning in our area area beautiful mess. We need the snow and it is pretty but it is a mess. Hwy 88 is closed at Peddler Hill so if you are in need of a powder fix for skiing or boarding Bear Valley and Dodge Ridge are your options as for Kirkwood you just can't get there from here. Unless you want to try and get to Tahoe and make your way back to Kirkwood from there. Chain controls start low on Hwy 4 from Murphys on up. On Hwy 108 from East Sonora on up and from Buck Meadows on Hwy 120. For the latest if you click on our weather link in the menu you will always get the latest information pulled from the Caltrans.

Arnold, CA...Unsettled weather continues today with periods of moderate to heavy snow showers expected in the mountains of Interior Northern California. Snow levels remain around 2000 to 3000 feet across the northern mountains, and 3000 to 4000 feet across the West Slopes of the Northern Sierra. Mountain travelers should be prepared for hazardous winter weather with periods of near whiteout conditions, travel delays, chain controls, and possible road closures. Improving weather expected over the weekend.

Winter Storm Warning with Periods of Heavy Snow & Winds Through Friday Night

Arnold, CA...The next winter storm will bring periods of heavy snow and strong wind to the mountains of interior Northern California. Heaviest snow is expected Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon, with periods of whiteout conditions likely. An additional 1 to 4 feet of snow accumulation is possible above 3000 feet with 3 to 5 feet at pass levels through Friday night. Snow levels will remain around 2000 to 3000 feet across the northern mountains, and 3000 to 4000 feet across the west slopes of the Northern Sierra.
