Saturday Drowning Victim Identified

Groveland, CA....We so sadly reported on a drowning that occurred on Saturday, December 18th at approximately 3:35pm at 22100 Hells Hallow Road in Groveland. According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, the victim is has been identified as 79 year old Alfonzo Garcia, of Groveland. According to Sgt. Jeff Wilson of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Garcia was reported missing at 1:30 p.m. Saturday after not returning home on Friday.....

FIRE NEWS...Residential Structure Fire Reported in Sonora

Sonora, CA....Multiple crews are responding to a structure fire at 19703 Serrano Road at Hwy 108. Update: Single story residence. Update 8:36am: Crews are stating home is 1/3 involved. Update 8:43am: Crews are getting it knocked down. They are still working on interior and roof. Additional water tenders are being called in to assist. Update 8:53am:Fire is pretty much knocked down. No additional fire is being seen Red Cross is being called for residents of home to include two adult women and one 3 year old child. Crews will remain on scene for another 1 1/2 hours or so to mop up. Great job crews! Cause of fire is unknown at this time. Update 9:15am: A code 2 ambulance is being ordered or a firefighter who came in contact with a live electrical line.

Sonora, CA...Crews are responding to reported lines down across the roadway at Snell St & School Street near the High School. It is unknown at this time if they are power lines or not. Please use caution or avoid the area as this will no doubt snarl traffic in that area. Update as of 8:53am...Single vehicle accident into a pole.

Skiers and Riders may select one of the following organizations to receive the Dodge Ridge five dollar donation; Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County, ReHorse Rescue Ranch, Interfaith of Sonora, Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency - Food Bank, or Friends of the Animal Community.
