Rescue of 25 Chilren and Seven Adults~by Sgt. Ken Diaz

At about 1019 hours this morning Tuolumne County Dispatch Center received a phone call from Cal Fire stating that there were four children that were Hypothermic and sick near Pinecrest Lake. Cal fire, Search and Rescue and Tuolumne County Boat Patrol along with an Ambulance crew and Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the Pinecrest area to assist. On 6-3-09 twenty five 7th graders from the Stone Bridge Charter School from the Napa Scholl District along with two guides from Sierra Out Door School, one Teacher and four other adults went to Cleos Bath near Pinecrest Lake for a two day camping trip. ....

Tuolumne County, CA....While on routine patrol, Deputy Rivera saw a 2002 Dodge Minivan at the corner of Cherokee Rd and Tuolumne Rd North. The vehicle had a head lamp that was not working. Deputy Rivera stopped the vehicle and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Guillen and the passenger identified himself as Miller. A Computer check showed that Miller was on Probation out of Stanislaus County for Narcotics Violations. .......

Columbia, CA...I enjoy Columbia Park, especially the Fallon House Theater and the Fiddle Contests. My Wife, Kyran, used to manage the theater years ago. However, the state has not been a responsible landlord. It has problems maintaining the historic buildings and the lessees can't invest in the improvements due to their short term. In addition, there are issues in the operation of the park due to the crushing state bureaucracy...

Cal Fire reported two fires over the weekend. One in Tuolumne County and one in Stanislaus County. One was an escaped debris burn and the other involved a stolen vehicle that was set on fire. The fire reports are enclosed....

Jamestown, CA...The CHP accident release from the tragic Hwy 108 head on collison on Saturday has been released. Tuolumne County, CA....We just spoke with CHP Dispatch in Merced, and they reporting a confirmed single fatality due a multiple vehicle collision at Hwy 120/49 at Chinese Camp. The collision occurred at around 5:30pm this evening. Hwy 120 was closed until recently. Please travel with caution in the area. More details to come as we receive. May our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of all of those involved in this tragedy. Please be careful out there. Update: 8:32pm, John just spoke with CHP for an update, there was one adult and infant fatality injured and hwy 120 was confirmed as open...

Jamestown, CA.....We have received the official CHP release on the tragic motorcycle fatality that occurred on May 19th near Cherry Lake. Jamie Evanslawrence, 43 from Jamestown lost his life in a solo accident. CHP is seeking any information on this from the public. The release is enclosed....

Another Motorcylce Fatality in Tuolumne County

Tuolumne, CA...It looks like there may be another fatal motorcycle accident in the area. Details are still coming in and CHP is not on scene yet. The coroner has been called and the victim was located next to the vehicle. CHP is reporting that a Forest Biologist located the accident. We will provide updates as this incident develops...UPDATE....CHP confirms another tragedy....A Harley rider fatality. The body of the deceased was discovered at the accident scene by a hiker. The accident scene was along a remote paved road in the Cherry Lake area. According to the CHP Office in Jamestown it appears the victim had been deceased for a few days. Personnel from the Sheriff's Office, Coroner and CHP are on scene now trying to put the puzzle pieces together on this incident....
