Advisory for Don Pedro Lake in Tuolumne County Offers Safe Eating Advice for Five Species of Fish |

La Grange, CA...A new state fish advisory issued today provides safe eating advice for black bass species, Channel Catfish, Common Carp, Sacramento Sucker, and sunfish species from Don Pedro Lake in Tuolumne County. The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) developed the recommendations based on the levels of mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) found in fish caught from this lake.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept....Sometimes you get lucky by being in the right place at the right time. One of our Deputies was driving through downtown Sonora Friday evening. He was flagged down by three people who had just witnessed a hit-and-run collision involving a white Ford pickup. The Deputy had the truck in his sights and was able to catch up to it as it turned onto Lyons Street from Shepherd Street. He watched as the truck veered in and out of its lane.

Teamwork Lands a Sonora Woman in Jail for Driving Under the Influence. |

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Modesto Police Department called our office early this morning and asked for a Deputy to check for a hit-and-run suspect vehicle at a Columbia Village Drive address. As a Deputy drove north through downtown Sonora, he spotted the black Pontiac SUV driving south with front end damage.

Oakdale Woman Arrested on Identity Theft, Grand Theft & More |

Jamestown, CA...Late Friday night, while patrolling in Jamestown, deputies spotted a 2006 silver Chrysler 300 matching one used in connection with a crime in our county. The driver later identified as 33-year-old Janitta Garcia of Oakdale was seen exiting the vehicle and entering the Chicken Ranch Casino. Deputies recognized Garcia and her vehicle from surveillance footage stemming from several ID thefts that occurred in Sonora, Cold Springs and Oakdale. The credit card used in these thefts was reported stolen in a home burglary that occurred in Strawberry.
