Valley Springs, CA (Grassroots Newswire) March 1, 2010 – Curves of Valley Springs is encouraging women in the area to show their philanthropic strength by participating in the annual Curves Food Drive. And, even though donating food to families in need is its own reward, the club is offering compelling incentives for both existing and potential members who participate. From March 1 to 31, Curves of Valley Springs will collect non-perishable items and monetary donations for local area food bank – Community Resource. Valley Springs, CA.....Cynthia Renae (Nelson) Culver, 47, passed away suddenly in her sleep on Feb 28, 2010 at her home in Valley Springs, CA where she had resided for the past 5 years. Cyndi was born in Denver, CO. May 06, 1962, graduated from Canoga Park High School and attended some college. She married Mark Culver of San Diego, CA on December 12, 2009. She was an install coordinator for Lowes in Jackson, CA. Cyndi loved nature, the outdoors, her horses and cats; she enjoyed horse back riding, hiking, camping and spending time at the river and at the beach. Attempted Kidnapping in Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA...Deputy Gillespie took a report of an attempted kidnapping from victim, Cynthia Miller at 4274 Dunn Road in Valley Springs. The victim stated she was walking on Silver Rapids Road approximately 10:00 last night, near Hartvickson Road when she was contacted by two subjects in a silver 2000's Mazda two door. Ms. Miller described the Mazda as having a rear tinted window and the passenger side headlight out. Apparently the passenger was sitting in the car and grabbed the victim's t-shirt through the window...

Valley Springs Resident. William Earl Cornelison, Passed Away on March 6th, 2010

Valley Springs, CA....William Earl Cornelison, 73, of Valley Springs, passed away peacefully at home, March 6, 2010. Earl was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Scotsboro, Al. He lived in Valley Springs for 10 years and previous to that he lived in Salinas for 50 years. Earl was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. Survivors: Earl is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Milissa; son-in-law, Pino; son, James; daughter-in-law, Eva; sister, Pearl Clines of Pisgah, Al., step-son, Ben and step-daughter Brenda; also 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews....

Valley Springs, CA...On February 26th just before midnight, a 60 year old Valley Springs resident was driving his 2003 Dodge Pickup northbound on Milton Road north of Hunt road in rainy weather. Due to his intoxication, he failed to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway, and lost control of his pickup truck. The truck struck a guardrail and overturned onto it's roof, coming to a stop precariously on top of the guardrail...

Valley Springs, CA....Two Valley Springs Community Workshops remain this week for input on the Valley Springs Community Plan. Thursday, February 25th, 6:30pm—Planning for Valley Springs Future, Land Use and Circulation Maps Area residents will be asked to weigh in on two (2) Land Use maps and a Circulation map that have been created from resident input. Attendee’s will have an opportunity to engage the maps and provide input for the Project Partners as they continue to prepare the Community Plan update for Valley Springs.....

Valley Springs, CA.....There were over 400 people at the 1st Valley Springs Community Workshop this evening. Two others are scheduled for later this week. The biggie at tonights meeting was that 83% of the attendee's voted to keep Rancho Calaveras out of the Greater Valley Springs Community Plan.....

Valley Springs, CA...The Valley Springs Community plan is in jeopardy of falling apart and is dividing the community it is intended to serve. Quick Leadership is needed to prevent the plan from becoming a huge waste of time and money. I would ask Supervisor’s Thomas and Toffanelli to lobby COG and Cal Trans to remove Rancho Calaveras from the planning area and allow the plan to move forward...
