Posted by: thepinetree on 09/13/2013 12:29 AM
Calaveras, CA...My daughter recently entered a contest at her school called "Dinner With a Scientist". It's an annual event the district puts on for the 6th graders. Or as she put it, "A robot for old people"...don't worry, I helped her put a more PC title on her invention. She won a spot at the event and had a great time learning and meeting many different scientific professionals...

Valley Springs, CA..On September 11, 2013 at 4:45 pm, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Veteran’s Field playground in Valley Springs behind Valley Springs Elementary School for a report of an attempted kidnapping of a 14 year old girl. She turned around and started walking away from him towards the school. As she was walking away she heard what sounded like someone jogging up behind her. She turned, at which time the male brushed up against her. She fled the area towards the school where she called a friend for help. The suspect male returned to his vehicle and left the area. She did not know the identity of the male...
