Valley Springs, CA...A 45 year old Valley Springs man was arrested for felony DUI causing injury following a collision that caused major injuries to a San Andreas woman and minor injuries to a Valley Springs woman. The subject failed to notice stopped and turning vehicles in front of him and crossed over into oncoming traffic. The CHP release is enclosed...

In two words Gary is a STEEL MAN! He has spent his entire life in the steel industry. He rose through the ranks to manage a crew of 250 in a Union Steel Company before starting his own steel business16 years ago. San Andreas, CA...After a round of public meetings, including a study session with the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, and much public dialogue we can report the following to you. We confirmed that the Building Department changed the way they “interpret” our current Fire and Life Safety Code mid year 2007. They were strongly challenged for taking this new position and we did have some limited success in softening the impact. Where the mitigation since 1992 was to pave the driveway, that is no longer the rule of the land....

Valley Springs, CA...Hwy 26 now has it's very own Calaveras County Ore Cart. This is the latest in the continued efforts of the Chamber of Commerce to mark every entrance into the county with a Beautiful and Iconic Ore Cart. The cart which was built by Angels Sheet Metal and dropped into place yesterday morning still needs to have the finishing touches put in place but all of the "Heavy Lifting" has been done.

This is the sixth restaurant for the Auburn based group that also has the Sonora, Angels Camp, Jackson, Auburn and Loomis stores. It is a beautiful new facility. Parolee Arrested on Drug Charges

Valley Springs, CA...On April 8, 2008, at approximately 2:15pm, Sheriff's Detectives and members of the Narcotics Team received information that a parolee at large was in the Valley Springs area. Detectives identified the suspect and attempted to contact the parole agent, and the suspect fled on a BMX style bicycle. After a short chase the suspect crashed his bicycle.
